Living in Texas I don’t particularly love UT, but I can’t stand A&M lol. It’s hard to describe how weird the school is unless you’re around enough of their fans. Glad they got blue balled yet again.
As a fan of a “little brother” school I do not know what is more annoying, a fan base with a perpetual arrogance about their self worth or a fanbase with insatiable envy and teeth gnashing. You tarheels know a thing or two about that ;)

A&M fans cannot separate themselves from feeling culturally superior while also really wanting the success they see in Austin. The dynamic is not terribly dissimilar from rural America hating prosperous cities but what is worse for A&M is the school is successful in its own right and still they cannot feel good about themselves merely because U Texas exists.

I married an Aggie so I enjoy games there a lot. And I pull for them while hoping Elko falls flat.

But it's so true that the culture there is very weird. It's cultish in a way.

They have this building where you cannot wear a hat. But it's also where the bookstore is. So some people will make comments if you try on a hat in there.

And they have multiple sections of grass you cannot step on.
