He absolutely did. Numerous reporters have been hinting at a “big” and “unexpected” opening for a few weeks. A lot of folks thought it was a reference to the Texas job but several of the college ball podcasts I listen to have hinted at a different one since November. Per Bruce Feldman this has been a bubbling rumor for weeks.Very unconfirmed but there are rumors that the ad knew about this for months and didn't tell anybody.
Still not completely sure what Moore was fired for. Was he fired for an affair with a staffer, or was the staffer a direct report, or was the staffer a student, or did he use University funds for something he shouldn't have, or something else? I wouldn't think a run of the mill affair would be enough to fire someone but maybe I'm wrong.
