Commercials

My all-time "bad" commercial was a Joy Liquid dishwashing ad that I saw exactly once before it was pulled. The series of ads showed young couples with the husband complimenting the wife on how clean the dishes were. In this iteration, it was a black couple and the young husband looked at a freshly washed plate and instead of saying, "I can see myself." he exclaimed, "Look at that shine." Apparently, the Hollywood ad writers were unaware of a certain disparaging slur used in the South to describe black people.

I hate 95% of all commercials.

And in today's society, I don't understand how they really work. I DVR everything that I watch on network TV and 80% of what I watch is on streaming services where I pay for no ads.

Most people don’t do that. The Netflix ad option has done very well.

I agree Tech. There are a few that are good/funny, but most are just a waste of 30 seconds or so of my life.

I remember when cable tv came along and I was excited because…No Commercials. Then along came streaming and I was excited because..No Commercials. But..commercials happen

When I first saw the Kalshi commercial with Bryson DeChambau and the alien sighting question I thought it was a bit cruel, but, it's kinda funny now . .

Can't leave him like that . .
Nine iron . .

I started looking at commericials with a different perspective after I started watching Mad Men a few months ago but I'll admit that about halfway thru the third season, I ponied up for ad free. As a side note, I never realized how big the market was for eczema meds...
