A lot of public schools are worse. Eminent domain and all that.
Looking at Google Maps street view, it looks like that parking garage was still there as of 5 months ago.

Second building in from Broadway. South side of street. Has scaffolding in front of it.

I actually think I know the place you’re talking about. I’ve managed pretty well so far. I’ve got a good number of spaces up by Riverside Park and on the Henry Hudson Viaduct.

I can actually see my car (outlined in photo) where I have it parked right now.

You can park on the viaduct?
Yep - and the Move Times there are 8:30 to 10:00 rather than 11:00 to 12:30 as in a lot of the other spaces in the area. That facilitates the juggling. Last night i walked the dogs a bit later - around 10 pm which meant that i could wait until 8:45 or so this morning to take them out. Last Tuesday i had grabbed a Tues/Friday 1-:00-12:30 spot. So this morning as I was finishing up the dog walk around 9:40 we jumped in the car and drove it about 600 yards to the viaduct and snagged an empty 8:40-10:00 spot. We sat there for 20 minutes (woulda moved if the cops came along-they didn’t, actually never have when I’ve done this) until 10 when I exited and me and the boys got a little more walk in and now I’m good with parking until 8:00 on Tuesday morning.

I’ll check Monday night when I’m walking the boys and if there’s a Monday-Thursday spot I can snag I’ll do that and be good until Thursday.

The area along Riverside, especially from about 120th up to 135th or so, is very Revolutionary War Era historic.

On September 16, 1776 The Battle of Harlem Heights went down. Though the Continental troops commanded by George Washington, Nathanael Greene, and Israel Putnam eventually retreated to White Plains, the day resulted in more of a victory than a defeat. In the course of the clash the red-clad empire-building British were proven mortal in battle and the colonists comported themselves well enough that morale was boosted.

The first 11-12 minutes of the linked video here are my standard dog walking path, up to 106th, over by Grant’s Tomb, and then down to 125th (Hollow Way). The video shows the odd topography of our part of the city well and some places that are now very dear to me and my dogs.

Judge Rejects New Jersey’s Bid to Halt Congestion Pricing

Starting Sunday, most drivers who enter Manhattan south of 60th Street during peak travel times will be charged a $9 fee.

I used to live at 52nd & 9th. Would have appreciated this (assuming it actually reduces traffic).
