Like any organization the SPLC isn't perfect (who or what is?) but there's no doubt that it has done some amazing work over the years in going after the Klan and other dangerous or extremist groups and exposing their views and actions and defending those that they target or attack. And that's precisely why conservatives hate it so and are going after it. Silence the SPLC and you've silenced one of the most effective anti-racist, anti-white supremacist private groups in the country over the past forty or so years, and certainly in the South. That's not something that most Americans would celebrate, but most racists and bigots would no doubt be thrilled to see it go away. Hopefully this lawsuit against them will fail, bigly.Have we forgotten the lessons of the past?
