“… He has publicly apologized for what he called an innocent visit to town hall, spurred by a bad reaction he had to alcohol and medication that eventually made him vomit. He has told people he took off his pants to clean them….”
LOL. This is one of those classic small-town, small-city scandals that local newspapers used to love to cover in detail. The town will have to release the tapes eventually - I don't think the appeals will work - so this dude is probably toast, no matter how much he insists he's going to remain in office until his term ends. And no doubt he was engaging in some serious hanky-panky with the female journalist at the town hall, his explanation is ridiculous.

Sure. But it also shows that GOPers were not helpless these last ten years. They could have stood up to Trump. They failed. Including Tillis, of course.
Trump is kingmaker. If you stand up to him, you lose your job. Very, very few politicians have survived crossing Trump. Pubs only grow a spine once they announce they are not running for re-election. They had their chance in 2021 and they turtled.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer tells Politico that members of his panel are open to a Trump pardon of Ghislaine Maxwell as a way to encourage her to provide testimony about Jeffrey Epstein.
That would be a conditional pardon. On condition she forget seeing trump fuck under agreed girls.

It's really sad how much energy has been spent to protect a pedophile all while his family gets richer off of insider trading.

Fucking horrible.

I really don't think Maxwell will get a pardon. I mean, Trump is stupid so maybe, but they are headed into a mid-term election with extremely low probability. Their only hope to avoid a tsunami will be base turnout. Sure, maybe Maxwell denies that Trump was ever involved (though she doesn't have to -- once she has the pardon, she doesn't have to cooperate), but Trump will still have pardoned one of the most infamous criminals in recent history. A criminal who his base has been obsessed with.

I very much doubt that would be a win for Trump or the GOP -- especially since absolutely nobody outside of Trump's base would believe anything she had to say. And again, the base will see Maxwell pardoned.

I can hear him, "Yeah, that's the ticket! It was a bad reaction to that aspirin and fifth of Jack that I chugged."

It's been an inevitable conclusion since Trump entered office. May it be for him as successful as the guillotine was for Louis the XVI

Another critically important issue resolved.

I like alternative punishments. I could see Hegseth doing a life sentence cleaning gay bathrooms in San Francisco or Trump forced to play a live on satellite round of golf in his whitey tighties so we can see his real glory or so nice individual recognition like that for their efforts.
