Great article. Wish it would have been written while Biden was President.

Biden should have peeked in on Fox News during his term. They were discussing all of this on a daily basis.
No one outside of maga world sees fox as a viable news source.

Looking back, had i realized how important this would turn out, I wish it would have been better addressed.

I didn't realize how many people would put keeping brown people out of the country above the economy.

But considering all the lies about all of the brown people bringing drugs as well as being murders and rapist, I can understand the less informed being scared. Fear seems to be a way of life for them, so they are very susceptible to rhetoric designed to drive fear.

Soybean prices have been pretty stable this year (last year and a half, actually), essentially trading b/w $10 and $11 for the past 18 months, and more days higher than $11 than lower than $10, although very few of either. Actually soybeans have been north of $11 since the end of October, which is the highest they've been all year. Seems an odd time to be passing out free money to soybean farmers when prices are at an 18 month high...

“… Farmers nationwide have been grappling with low crop prices and challenging tariffs that have pushed many into bankruptcy. As The Washington Post reported in October, some 181 farmers filed for bankruptcy protection in the first half of the year, a 60 percent increase from the previous year and the highest six-month reading since 2020, according to U.S. court records.

The new assistance package is expected to particularly help soybean farmers, who have seen a precipitous drop in sales this year. China — in response to Trump’s tariffs — stopped buying U.S. soybeans in May after being the top purchaser in 2024. That left U.S. farmers with extra supply, and the price of soybeans fell….”

What do I need to do to get a piece of that? Got a bunch of raised beds in my back yard, surely that can count.

And the farmers are so upset that Trump keeps ruining their businesses and they have to take handouts from the government that although they will support Trump for president again for an unconstitutional 3rd term, they will consider moving their Trump signs and flags from the front of their lawns. Maybe.

Respectfully disagree. You're basing your opinion on the Fox prime time opinion shows. But the News Hour with Bret Baier is a hard news show as well as many of Fox's daytime shows. Baier's show, however, does focus on news the legacy media chooses to ignore like the border issue that we were dealing with during Biden's term and the Hunter laptop story. The legacy media ignored it or simply parroted what Mayorkas and the Biden Admin repeatedly told us that "the Border is Closed" or that "the Border is secure." Nothing to see here, move on. Choosing to live in a news bubble (and only listening to their non profit allies) eventually bit them on the butt and was one of the main reasons Dems lost the 2024 election.

I'm not saying many on the right don't live in a sequestered news bubble as well (I don't think it's healthy to watch it all day like many shut in elderly folks). This is a 2025 problem not just a partisan problem. I make it a point to seek out news outside my comfort zone for this reason. Heck I learn a lot by participating on this board.

Why do you wish that? You're self-admittedly all about scoreboard. Why would you claim to have wanted Biden to have done something you think would have helped him win re-election?

The article is fatally flawed in one very important sense: perpetuating a myth about the "border closure." First, it was not an about-face. Biden had been doing other policies to limit migration. Second, it had already been deemed illegal, by the 9th Circuit. And Biden knew that the federal courts were invalidating pretty much everything he did, so this was a non-starter. Third, Biden was implementing the policy that had been in the bipartisan bill that everyone liked until Trump interfered.

The one point where the article is insightful concerns that bipartisan bill. It's probably true that the bill would have been benefited from Biden's endorsement so it could have been passed earlier. But it's also true -- I think -- that we are talking about the immediate aftermath of O7 in Israel, and that sucked all the oxygen out of the White House. I honestly believe that it was that crisis that doomed Biden. It exhausted him in a way he could never recover; it was irreconcilable in many important ways; and it was a huge distraction that divided his base. If Hamas' goal was to elect Trump, they succeeded.

Could Biden have done two things at once? Yes. But it's hard and it rarely works, at least not for major initiatives. Even Obama put stimulus first, and only then health care.

I don't believe I live in a news bubble, but I refuse to watch fox. Of course I really don't watch CNN or MSNBC either...

As for the news, yes looking back the border was a bigger issue than many thought, so it probably should have been more mainstream, but I don't think it's as bad as trump says, yes numbers were higher than they should have been, but no most of them were not rapist or murders.

And, compared to the corruption of the current administration, the Hunter Biden laptop is an even bigger joke now. Hell maybe hunter should have been like the trump kids and just not even tried to hide it.

How do you have time to watch daytime TV?
