“…In North Carolina, reimbursements of more than $60 million for debris removal and other operations are overdue, and $105 million from FEMA’s Disaster Relief Fund has been frozen. The state is still awaiting over $1 billion in related Department of Agriculture funding that was due March 21. And North Carolina will be especially hard hit by the announced cancellation of FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program, presumably because it relates to climate change. The state’s Emergency Management department estimates that all BRIC grants from 2020-23 will be cancelled, with a loss of $184 million, to say nothing of unmet needs going forward. …”

Luckily we have cut income taxes over and over....so ---oh shit

“… SpaceX is arguing that current limits placed on satellite radio frequencies are “flawed and outdated assumptions” based on faulty data from the 1990s, which is causing inefficient signals sent between satellites. SpaceX said in its August petition that by amending previous regulations, the FCC “will unlock the full potential and benefits of non-geostationary orbit satellite systems to connect millions more Americans in all locations of the country with high-speed, low-latency broadband internet.”

… SpaceX’s increasingly powerful satellites have already been found to leak 30 timesmore radio interference than previous iterations, hindering ground-based radio telescopes measuring exoplanets, black holes, and other deep-space phenomena. One radio astronomer told Science that these satellites make their observation attempts akin to trying to spot a faint star in the sky right next to a full moon.

The FCC nevertheless appears amenable to SpaceX’s request, signaling it will initiate a rulemaking process that could provide SpaceX exactly what it wants.

… Musk’s growing satellite fleet is also cluttering up outer space. In a six-month period, satellites belonging to Starlink, a SpaceX subsidiary, were forced to swervemore than 25,000 times to avoid other spacecraft and space debris. Since its first satellite launch in 2019, the company’s satellites have been in more than 50,000 near-misses. Additionally, experts estimate that 40 percent of all out-of-service satellites that burn up in Earth’s atmosphere belong to Starlink.”

On the one hand, this Cuban immigrant should have understood she was subject to deportation. OTOH, a mother of a still breast-feeding infant American citizen (as an aside, born thanks to in vitro fertilization but also a premie with some health issues), married to an American citizen and with no criminal record, seems like she should have been a low priority and gotten more due process than the next to none here before being whisked off to Cuba 72 hours after being detained at her check-in with Immigration services.

Lol you can't make doomsday predictions and advocate for certain actions and be completely wrong. But of course you'll forgive him, the climate folk are a cult. Al gore has been completely wrong and profited from it but you eat it up!
Wow, what an approach.

Find someone who was incorrect about so part of a much bigger thing and use them as your leverage for not reading, understanding, or grasping the information that science is revealing.

Such an easy way to just keep your head in the sand. But that makes sense for modern trump cultist, they use the same tactic to keep the cult afraid of everything they don't understand.

If you cannot on your own read the information supporting climate change and ignore old politicians, then that's a you problem.

Additionally, since you call those who follow the science a cult, I don't recall any bright red climate change hats or flags on the cars of everyone that follows the science. All indications are that maga is a cult, not those who trust science.

That's not how the constitution works. If you ask nicely and humbly, with an intent to learn and not to argue, I might explain it to you.

But when you just announce that a core constitutional principle "doesn't make sense" because it failed to perfectly correspond to your intuitions in the 30 seconds of thought you gave it, what's my incentive to explain?
Super, it's time to give up on Zen.

At first I liked that Zen had a different perspective on things and would occasionally bring some interesting information to threads, but over time it's become apparent that it's not worth the effort to respond.

Or he could of misspoke. But instead of giving him credit for the price decreasing tremendously since he took office and remaining silent during record inflation under Biden your TDS kicked into high gear missing the big picture. You're wrong about everything. The Democrats and like minded voters are a sinking ship, look in the mirror, voters are rejecting you!!
Trump's history demonstrates that he doesn't misspeak, he simply lies about absolutely everything.

Yes, we understand that inflation went up under Biden, not record inflation as you claim (a little reading of history would tell you that) but it also had multiple variables in the cause and started rising before he was in office. Then while he was in office, it leveled off and started to fall. All without a recession, which a consensus majority of economist agreed was a significant accomplishment. But the cult told you it was bad, so you believe it was bad as you don't actually think for yourself.

Biden administration did everything possible to curb inflation and help the economy. >> Trump killing the markets, creating an unnecessary trade war, creating inflation, alienating our allies, hurting our farmers and small businesses, and ignoring our rule of law. But you keep lapping up the fox news bullshit.

Nice! But but trump

Showing your ignorance again. The statement is "But her Email" and it's a trump cult statement.

If this is true, those of use who actually believe in the rule of law and due process will support an investigation, trial, and punishment in accordance with the laws broken.

Remember only trump will let ignore the rule of law for loyalty, not the rest of us.

Just look at the NYC mayor, kiss trumps ass and trump will ignore due process and the rule of law for you.

“In the interest of dispelling our strong suspicion that the government just deported a US citizen with no meaningful process,” Judge Doughty said in the order, a hearing is scheduled on May 16 in Monroe, Louisiana.

The judge added, “It is illegal and unconstitutional to deport, detain for deportation, or recommend deportation of a U.S. citizen,” citing a 2012 deportation case.

Judge is a Trump appointee.

You gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette. Right, Silence?

I think this probably reflects the spirit of the MAGA movement. I'm surprised that he's not been discovered and celebrated for his achievements at Sand Creek.

In a single day, a nation's leadership was crippled with the murder of 13 Cheyenne chiefs. We learned that when some of his soldiers protested the order to massacre women and children, Colonel Chivington replied: “Damn any man who sympathizes with Indians!... Kill and scalp all, big and little; nits make lice.”
