It is not unique -- that much is true. Indeed, I was born in black hospital because my mom's labor proceeded very fast and there was no time to get to the white hospital.

For years and years I had trouble getting copies of my birth certificate, because the records at the black hospital were shoddy. Can you think of a reason why?

So it's not unique. It is, however, disproportionate. Again, even you can understand why. If you're having trouble, I will point you to those phrases above, "black hospital," and "white hospital."

I'm still not sure what you're implying. Given our recent conversation regarding the lack of scientific basis for the concept of race, I don't even know what you could be talking about when referencing a black hospital vs a white hospital.

I'd also add that I was born well after the Civil Rights Act was passed. The institutional racism did not just vanish. Whatever one thinks about systemic racism today, surely everyone can admit that systemic racism extended well into the 80s. I was bussed in the 80s because they were still trying to desegregate schools.

I agree there are laws that disproportionately punished "blacks" (as they were called at the time), but I don't know what that has to do with hospital recordkeeping.
