I really don’t think they’ll have any trouble recruiting, people are still drawn to the US especially in healthcare because salaries are so much higher. Having worked with international docs from all over, though- I would absolutely not hesitate to ask for a US-trained physician for myself or a family member.
Maybe, but I do think that things have changed so rapidly in just the last few months - hell, the last few weeks - that even some foreign doctors are going to start having second thoughts about coming here. Things are rapidly deteriorating in terms of foreigners living here, especially if they have non-white skin. I know that salaries may be higher, but after watching the news about what is happening in America I would think that at least some foreign doctors may start to have some doubts, higher pay or no, especially if they have kids.

Related to this outburst of “Americanism” fervor?:

“… Chavez-DeRemer, 57, has welcomed her alleged paramour at least three times to her DC apartment and twice into her hotel room while traveling, alleges a complaint filed with the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Office of Inspector General last week, which has since begun a probe.

The former Oregon congresswoman is also accused of drinking in her office during the workday and committing “travel fraud” by having her chief of staff and deputy chief of staff “make up” official trips to destinations where Chavez-DeRemer can spend time with family or friends on the taxpayers’ dime.

… Sources also accused her of being a “boss from hell,” by forcing aides to run personal errands or perform other menial tasks while on the clock.

Chavez-DeRemer, chief of staff Jihun Han, and deputy chief of staff Rebecca Wright — whom the complaint alleges are “involved and have knowledge of these issues” — are all now under investigation by the DOL’s Office of Inspector General, according to sources and documents….”

WTF kind of liquor cabinet is that?

Hard to keep up with all of it.
Indeed.

When Trump 2.0 started, I began keeping a list of all the outrageous illegal and unconstitutional shit that he and his administration were doing, but it quickly became overwhelming and I didn't have the time nor the inclination to track everything. I pivoted to a list of exclusively stuff that exceeded my expectations in its illegality, corruption, and depravity, even though my baseline for such was essentially on the floor from the beginning. This is what I have so far:

- Federal government taking ownership stakes in private companies (socialism!!)

- Qatari military base in Idaho

- Deciding unilaterally to tear down East Wing of White House (no Congressional approval)

- Using drones to indiscriminately kill people in boats in International waters

- Giving $40 billion of American taxpayer money to Argentina and then another $840 million "loan" that will never be paid back

- Stealing $230 million from the American people for "lawfare" (is this still happening?)

- Openly accepting bribes for pardons

- Changing past President's photos in the White House and placing placards with unhinged bios of each

- Under the pretext of stopping drug trafficking and terrorism, militarily abducting Maduro and his wife to gain control of Venezuela's oil reserves and "run" the country indefinitely

Obviously, there are some potential additions to the list on the near horizon with Trump's threats to invade Greenland, Cuba, etc.
