My theory is Thom took a bullet for Collins since she will be in a tossup race for reelection .
My theory is Tillis is a piece of shit who badly wanted to vote for all those Medicaid cuts but realized it would end his political career. So he ended it, and can now resume being a complete piece of shit.

Well that is plausible-likely

One of my law partners is half-Burmese (his father is from Burma) and he calls it Burma to this day. He actually got to go there several years ago and meet family members he had never met before. He didn’t feel completely safe, however, and ended up spending less time there than planned.
Thanks for the added color. It's very rare that I just completely flub geography. I'm just suspicious of all military renaming. Like Zaire or Kampuchea.

As someone else here has already pointed out, this is nothing but government by trolling. Experience doesn't matter, expertise doesn't matter, competency doesn't matter, all that matters is absolute loyalty to Dear Leader and trolling the libs and bragging about yourself on social media 24/7. It's no wonder they've hired so many Fox News talking heads to high government positions, as what matters isn't whether they're qualified for the job and know what they're doing, all that matters is the ability to look good on TV and trolling libs on social media all the damn time, which is something that Fox News employees know how to do well.

U.S. Sanctions Brazilian Judge Overseeing Case Against Trump Ally Bolsonaro

Administration targets Alexandre de Moraes in pressure campaign against the country’s political establishment

“… The agency said Wednesday that it was freezing U.S. assets belonging to Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, who has led the criminal trial of Bolsonaro over allegations the former president plotted a military takeover of the Latin American country in 2022.

De Moraes has drawn the Trump administration’s ire over the trial and his attempts to stamp out what he says is online hate speech by Brazil’s far right. He has become one of the most vilified figures among Brazil’s conservatives over recent years.

Texas Republicans Unveil Gerrymandered House Map, Trying to Please Trump

The proposed map would give Republicans a chance to gain five U.S. House seats, including in Houston, Dallas and along the U.S.-Mexican border.

“… In all, the new map, proposed by the State House in consultation with the National Republican Redistricting Trust, a Washington-based group, could well give Republicans control of 30 of the state’s 38 House seats, putting nearly 80 percent of the delegation in Republican control. In the 2024 election, Mr. Trump carried the state with 56 percent of the vote. …”

Hey, Mr. Vice President! Here's an idea! Get out of....er, *off*... of the couch and propose a bill that prohibits gerrymandering nationwide.
And while there 'poking' around, maybe he could find some loose change which could help offset the deficit due to OBBB.

“… Trump’s stories serve to exaggerate his foresight about and knowledge of domestic and foreign affairs, embellish his biography and record in office, and diminish his political opponents.

The stories tend to be colorful even though they’re fake. Trump’s historical fiction is sprinkled with vivid details and make-believe quotes, all the better to make it seem authentic and get it to stick in the minds of voters. …”

Most of these are minor given that he lies so often about material details but they are instructive about how he is constantly rewriting history with himself as a great oracle …
