What about Burma, Vietnam and Laos?Thailand genocides = 0
Cambodia genocides = 1
Plus, Thailand was never colonized. Cambodia is basically colonized by China right now.
Burma? What about Burma, Vietnam and Laos?
From what I understand, Burmese people use Myanmar and Burma interchangeably. Plus, we still call them Burmese and their language Burmese, etc.Burma?
C’mon now. It hasn’t been Burma for a while. But post-colonial rule has not been a bed of roses in SE Asia, or most places for that matter.
My theory is Thom took a bullet for Collins since she will be in a tossup race for reelection .Emil Bove just got confirmed to a lifetime appointment as a federal appeals
Court judge.
“… Senators voted 50-49 to confirm Trump's nominee for judge on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which oversees Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the Virgin Islands. …”
Murkowski and Collins voted no, Haggerty did not show up for the vote. So Thom Tillis voted for this clown.
One of my law partners is half-Burmese (his father is from Burma) and he calls it Burma to this day. He actually got to go there several years ago and meet family members he had never met before. He didn’t feel completely safe, however, and ended up spending less time there than planned. From what I understand, Burmese people use Myanmar and Burma interchangeably. Plus, we still call them Burmese and their language Burmese, etc.
My understanding is that "Myanmar" is a PR stunt forged by a junta. They changed the name for reasons I don't remember but it was intended -- as most name changes wrought by dictators -- for some nefarious purpose. Probably some sort of blood-and-soil thing. Whatever the case, it's analogous to Zaire.
