Biden must be God to Trump, I mean he is responsible for everything.Biden’s setup of the water situation was bound to cost us at some point.
Example one million of why he's a shit human being. That people - including some on this very board - continue to defend him says more about them than they will ever admit."Nobody could've seen that coming but it was Sleepy Joe's fault but also I wouldn't blame Sleepy Joe."
It has been my assertion for many years that modern evangelicalism is much more a political movement than a religious movement.I would tweak the statement a bit for the majority of (white?) Evangelicals (plus other Christian conservatives):
"If Christian conservatives become convinced that they can not follow conservatism and Christ, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject Christ."
Damn.
“… RJ borrowed a kayak, life vest and flashlight. He started to kayak to the cabin where the couple’s daughters and RJ’s parents were staying. It was about 100 feet below and he reached about halfway when, RJ said, a swell knocked him into a post.
“I shined a flashlight out there, and I could see it was white water, and I’ve kayaked enough to know that that was gonna be impossible,“ RJ said.
He could see an entire cabin had been detached from its foundation and was stuck against the side of the cabin where his daughters and parents were staying.
“There were cars floating at me and trees floating at me. I knew if I took even one stroke further, it was gonna be a death sentence.”
… [finding shelter with several other families on higher ground at 3:45 am]
That was when he checked his cellphone and saw a text sent at 3:30 a.m. from his daughter Brooke. Receiving the text alone was a miracle in the area, where he usually couldn’t get cell service. It said, “I love you.”
Annie, 43, who worked at St. Rita Catholic School, which both girls attended, received texts from both Brooke and Blair timestamped at 3:30 a.m. that said, “I love you.”
… At sunrise the water had finally receded enough for RJ to go back to the site. Only a half-dozen of the community’s 20-some cabins were still standing. The others had been ripped from their foundations, leaving only their tile floors. The cabin where Blair, Brooke and their grandparents had been staying was completely washed away.
Blair and Brooke’s bodies were found and identified about a dozen miles from the cabin. Their grandparents remain unaccounted for as of Sunday afternoon.…”
More like "we won't allow anyone else but MAGA Nation to turn America into a third world country filled with crime, failing schools, and total social dysfunction. Ruining America is a job that only Trumpers can accomplish!""We will not let America become a third world country filled with crime, failing schools, collapsing hospitals, and total social dysfunction."
Uhhhh...
“Can anyone actually point to anyone hurt by the DOGE cuts?”“… The President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, first authorized by Bush in 2003, was the largest commitment made by any nation to address a single disease. It was, the president said, “a work of mercy beyond all current international efforts to help the people of Africa.” PEPFAR, which received strong bipartisan support, is credited with saving 26 million lives and enabling almost 8 million babies to be born without HIV. It transformed the landscape of the HIV epidemic and helped stabilize the African continent. Not only is PEPFAR the single most successful policy to date in U.S.-Africa relations; it is “also one of the most successful foreign policy programs in U.S. history,” as Belinda Archibong, a fellow at the Brookings Institution, wrote last year.
… “The dying stopped after PEPFAR,” Margrethe Juncker, a Danish doctor who cared for urban slum dwellers living with HIV/AIDS in Uganda and who treated Engole, told Nakkazi. She called the program a “miracle.”
Then came Donald Trump.
… And although PEPFAR—which accounts for 0.08 percent of the federal budget and has been consistently judged to be a highly effective and accountable program—received a limited waiver in February allowing it to continue “life-saving HIV services,” the actual implementation of that waiver has been delayed, fragmented, and chaotic. Supply chains have been disrupted; so have diagnostic and treatment services. There have been mass layoffs of staff. Clinics have been shut down. “The result was unprecedented operational chaos, funding lapses, the collapse of implementation partnerships, and, in many cases, clinic closures,” according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
Those on the ground report widespread disruption of HIV services and devastating consequences for PEPFAR beneficiaries; the infrastructure that took years to build has been decimated. That will remain true even if the Trump administration were to reactivate PEPFAR tomorrow.
More than 75,000 adults and children are now estimated to have died because of the effective shutdown of PEPFAR that began less than six months ago. Another adult life is being lost every three minutes; a child dies every 31 minutes. Ending PEPFAR could result in as many as 11 million additional new HIV infections and nearly 3 million additional AIDS-related deaths by the end of the decade. …”
