JFC, will the military be required to teach his deranged imaginings as fact now?

It’s been a long trip, I know. Was he trying to reference Abu Ghraib maybe? 🤔 That doesn’t jive with the Afghanistan reference but maybe mixing up things that sound similar to him?

Anyway, this does not sound like how any actual conversation went:

Would a murder by a jilted and/or jealous boyfriend or spouse be considered femicide or homicide?

How about by a stalker or assailant?

Yes, the victim is female; but, was she murdered because of her gender?

Trump’s universal desire to blame Biden for everything creates some interesting new policy for the GOP to grapple with … yeah, the Biden Administration was cautious about doing business with a former Al Qaeda leader and sought to hold the Saudis accountable for torture murdering Jamal Khashoggi … which apparently was disrespectful in Trump’s view.

Former Biden/Obama officials assessment of Trump's Middle East trip:

"Gosh, I wish I could work for an administration that could move that quickly..." Fmr. Biden official

"When his personal instincts coincide with the national interests, it's pretty remarkable how quickly he can move..." Fmr. Biden official

On Syria, "it's so clearly the right decision...I don't know why Joe Biden didn't do this." Fmr. Obama official Ben Rhodes

"It's hard not to be simultaneously terrified at the thought of the damage he can cause with such power, and awed by his willingness to brazenly shatter so many harmful taboos...: Fmr. Obama/Biden official Rob Malley.

Is that what femicide means? I've actually never heard the term, or don't remember it. I thought it was just the killing of a woman, given a separate word because it takes place in Mexico where their language is highly gendered.

I agree that whether she was murdered because of her gender is merely "possible" at this point. I thought they were saying that she was "possibly" murdered.

I can't disagree with any of this. But again, this trip was the low hanging fruit. Very smart of Trump to start with this and credit to him for whatever good comes from it. But everything from this point is like going from Game 1 against Campbell to Game 2 against Ohio State.

Noem eyes $50M for new DHS jet

President Trump isn’t the only administration official eyeing a new jet: Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is also set to get one under a last-minute addition to the Coast Guard budget.

Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-Ill.), the top Democrat on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, blasted the agency for the $50 million line item that “had never been requested or even mentioned before.”

… The Department of Homeland Security has defended the request.

“The current CG-101 G550 is over twenty years old, outside of Gulfstream’s service life, and well beyond operational usage hours for a corporate aircraft,” Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary for public affairs, said in a statement.…”

I can't disagree with your comments as well. It will get tougher going forward but it helps to put points on the board in order to game momentum.

Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan pleads not guilty to two criminal charges at federal hearing

“… At the four-minute hearing, Dries set Dugan's next hearing for July 9 and her trial for July 21.

Afterward, Dugan declined to say whether she expects her case to go to trial. Biskupic also had no comment….”

I think it just means the victim and murderer knew each other.

Those are not compliments LOL. Well, maybe Rhodes.

Note that, other than Rhodes, none of them said anything about the wisdom. They are actually concerned that Trump moves so quickly, as that means he is being unconstrained by factors that should constrain him.

I know you love the idea of Trump doing stuff. He's got energy and you like that. Most people do not praise action unless it is good action.

Were you around for the UNC/Loyola Marymount NCAA tournament game? Boy did Loyola Marymount play with a lot of energy. Full court, five man press every possession. UNC won by 30 and that was after easing off the gas. Energy without wisdom is not a good thing.

I mean, I don’t disagree with this sentiment. The problem, as usual, is that Trump doesn’t have a “moderation” switch in his brain. It’s always all or nothing.

Getting involved in foreign wars? No, we don’t want that. But he believes destroying all our decades-long alliances and getting in bed with dictators and autocrats is how we achieve that.

America First = America alone.

Trump’s Military Buildup at the Border Expands

The Pentagon has sent thousands of troops, spy planes and even two warships to surveil the land and coasts.

“In the past four months, the Pentagon has sent thousands of active-duty combat troops and armored Stryker combat vehicles to the southwestern border to confront what President Trump declared on his first day in office was an “invasion” of migrants, drug cartels and smugglers.

That’s not all. The military has also dispatched U-2 spy planes, surveillance drones, helicopters and even two Navy warships to surveil the borders and coasts round the clock.

The buildup of forces underscores how Mr. Trump is breaking with his predecessors’ practice of mostly limiting deployments along the U.S.-Mexico border to small numbers of active-duty soldiers and reservists. About 2,500 active-duty troops were on the border at the end of the Biden administration. Now there are about 8,600.

In a recent visit with troops in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, the border was fairly calm. Crossings, which decreased sharply in the waning months of the Biden administration, have plummeted even further since the Trump administration declared its goal to obtain “100 percent” operational control of the boundary with Mexico.

In April, about 8,000 people were arrested after crossing the border illegally, down from about 128,000 people a year earlier, according to U.S. government statistics.

Even so, there is no end in sight for the military mission on the border, which the Pentagon says has cost $525 million so far.…”
