I was about to put this in the gun violence thread but then didn’t want to stress anyone out since that usually comes to the top with mass shootings.

“LaToya Williams chased the sound of gunshots from the house to a dirt road where her 16-year-old son had fallen from a bullet through the ribs.

Can you call 911? the teenager said. It’s bad, Mom.

Police arrived, and paramedics lifted Khalian Fedrick into an ambulance. Williams begged to ride with her son to the hospital but was told she couldn’t.

Williams, who didn’t have a car, asked police for a ride, but no officer volunteered. She set out on the 13-minute walk to the emergency room of UF Health Jacksonville, the hospital where she had given birth to her son. … A doctor came in to tell Williams her son had died.

For two years, Williams and her family were told little about Fedrick’s killing on Sept. 21, 2023.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office police reports show that the investigation took 36 hours, at an approximate cost of $1,744.68. Police deemed the case a lawful self-defense homicide—even though they had no one claiming they killed Fedrick in self-defense.

… Roughly a year after Fedrick’s fatal shooting, its lead detective said he and a local prosecutor agreed that the teenager was killed lawfully, naming as the killer a man who told police he didn’t shoot anyone….”

“… Pierre, a 32-year-old Florida man with a felony record, had earlier told investigators that he was just an unlucky bystander on a dirt road, struck in the hand as bullets flew from an armed stranger with a face mask and a tattoo between his eyes.

“After I got hit, I just ran,” Pierre said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “I ran for my life.” He didn’t know the investigation had been resolved: “I heard nothing from police,” he said.

Neither had Fedrick’s mother. Williams said she didn’t know the outcome of the case until she was told by the Journal, more than 13 months after Mitlyng’s 2024 report.

“Why wasn’t I notified?” Williams said. “I’m sick over this.”

… “They just use it as a mechanism for getting rid of difficult-to-prosecute cases, cases that weren’t a lead-pipe cinch to get a conviction,” said Gary Kleck, professor emeritus of criminology at Florida State University. “It became sort of a garbage dump for difficult-to-handle homicide cases.”

Justifiable homicides help reduce crime rates because they aren’t included in violent crime statistics….”

“… The heart “begins to quiver instead of pump. And when that happens, blood flow just stops, and a person can just collapse within seconds,” he said. “It is a main cause for sudden cardiac arrest, and the only way to fix it in the moment is an electrical shock to the heart.”

Fetterman likely received such a shock thanks to treatment he received after he suffered a stroke and was hospitalized during his campaign for Senate in May 2022. At that time, he said the stroke was caused by a clot from his heart during an episode of atrial fibrillation — a different and less immediately dangerous form of heart arrhythmia — two days earlier. He later had surgery to implant a pacemaker with a defibrillator to manage the condition….”

So he face-planted because his heart stopped there for a moment.

How does he think posting shit like this helps him? Somehow I doubt that posting obscure scary/weird/disturbing images of people holding Trump signs is going to win over anyone who isn't already in the cult. And this is hardly the first such weird picture he's posted recently. To me it's just another sign that he's totally lost it and is well on his way to full senility and lunacy. Tim Walz was 100% correct when he said that most MAGAs are just weird as hell.
It gets a million likes from his asslickers on Truth Social and that gives him an adrenaline rush. That’s how it helps him. He gives zero fucks about whether or not things are politically beneficial. He’s term limited and his feelings and his grifting are all he cares about.

The Department of Homeland Security was established to keep Americans safe. Under President Trump, it has so shifted its focus to illegal immigration that other aspects of its mission are suffering.

“… Homeland security agents investigating sexual crimes against children, for instance, have been redeployed to the immigrant crackdown for weeks at a time, hampering their pursuit of child predators.

A national security probe into the black market for Iranian oil sold to finance terrorism has been slowed down for months because of the shift to immigration work, allowing tanker ships and money to disappear.

And federal efforts to combat human smuggling and sex trafficking have languished with investigators reassigned to help staff deportation efforts.…”

GOP plans to replace Obamacare have failed. Here’s what lawmakers propose now.

Lawmakers are racing toward a mid-December deadline, with Republicans hoping to present side-by-side legislation with Democrats’ plan to extend ACA subsidies.
