It's also a direct reflection of just how dumb, gullible, and ignorant so much of the MAGA base really is. Is there any doubt that many (if not most) MAGAs who read that story will believe that Mamdani really is going to force poor NYC schoolkids to learn "weird, foreign" Arabic numbers without having a clue that our current numerals are of Arab origin? Or even that if they do know they still don't care?

Trump and his cronies using the Kennedy Center to grift...

This is just more fake news to distract us from focusing on Hunter's laptop☹️

“… At least one of the federal agencies that could see change is the Department of Homeland Security, the federal agency helmed by Kristi Noem that is charged with executing Trump’s campaign promise of mass deportation. Sources also said there could be turnover in the Department of Energy, currently run by Chris Wright, a former Colorado fracking executive whose relationship with the White House has frayed in recent months.

While there are ongoing discussions, officials stressed that no decisions have been made, and the Cabinet is expected to remain the same at least through the start of next year.

“The cabinet is not changing no matter how much CNN wishes that it would because it thrives off drama,” said White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt.…”

“… Trump himself is happy with Noem, multiple sources told CNN, and he has consistently praised her in public and private settings.

… A familiar face in Trump’s orbit who helped run his 2016 campaign, Lewandowski has become ensconced at DHS and is often at Noem’s side. The enormous power he’s amassed has also put him in the crosshairs of some senior White House officials.

“Yes, he likes [Noem], but it has been brought to his attention that [Lewandowski] is a problem, and the agency is being mismanaged because of it,” a person close to the White House said….

… In September, Trump convened a meeting with Lewandowski and Noem over the management of DHS, according to two people familiar with the event. One person said the Oval Office sit-down grew contentious, particularly between Lewandowski and Trump, who left the meeting irritated with Lewandowski. The tense meeting was notable to some inside the White House who believe that Lewandowski has only survived because of his strong relationship with the president.…”

“… Michel, a member of the 1990s hip-hip trio the Fugees, was convicted in 2023 of improperly donating millions to then-President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign in 2012 and later illegally lobbying the Trump administration. Some of Hollywood and Washington’s biggest names testified, including actor Leonardo DiCaprio and casino mogul Steve Wynn.

Peter Zeidenberg, a lawyer for Michel, said Thursday that the sentence was “completely disproportional to the facts alleged” and that Michel plans to appeal the case.

Michel received more than $21 million in transfers from Malaysian businessman Jho Low in 2012, prosecutors said. Michel allegedly used straw donors to conceal the origins of the money and funnel the cash into the Obama campaign. The 53-year-old rapper pleaded not guilty.

Low is alleged to have gained his wealth after masterminding a scheme to steal billions from 1Malaysia Development Bhd., or 1MDB, a Malaysian sovereign-wealth fund. The 1MDB scandal, which broke in 2015, was one of the largest financial crimes of the century.

Prosecutors said Michel attempted to lobby the Trump administration on Low’s behalf. Michel worked with associates including Wynn and Republican fundraiser Elliott Broidy to influence the Justice Department’s investigation into the 1MDB scandal, they said.

Low befriended Michel and many other celebrities with the help of wild parties and lavish gifts. He remains a fugitive. For his role in the scheme involving Michel, Low faces charges including conspiracy and impersonating foreign agents. He and Michel were indicted in 2019….”
