I was at an art festival today. I found some interesting things that I was considering purchasing for Christmas. Went to ask about them and noticed that the guy had a whole section (probably 20% of his space) dedicated to charlie kirk, I put the items back and left. No one's still talking about kirk other than those trying to make a buck off of him.

What blows my mind is when local groups raffle off a gun to help the family of a police officer KILLED BY A GUN.

Watching the video it seems like maybe letting her leave and following her to arrest her might have been an option. I don’t know why she would t get out of the car or why she tried to ease the car away but shooting her is obviously extreme.

They never should have charged this guy in the first place. Seemed like it was clear-cut self defense from day one. Of course the misinformation was once again rampant ("she didn't steal anything, she didn't do anything wrong").

For all the whining apologists do when it comes to the dangers of the job, you’d think some might recognize the best way to not have a car moving towards you is to not stand in front of it. His actions contributed to the situation in which he “feared for his life.” Standing in front of the car is not helpful in any way there.

While this is true, having a police officer (or any person) standing in front of your car would likely deter 99% of normal people from then shifting that car into drive and driving forward. His fault was assuming that this individual would not be willing to risk her life and the life of her unborn child for some liquor.

She was barely moving. If she had wanted to injure him, he’d have been learning to walk again instead of justifying why he killed a pregnant woman in his own criminal trial.
She is not at all blameless here, but goddamn if cops don’t regularly set the stage so they can justify beating or shooting people.

While I respect the risks LEOs take, their jobs are not all that dangerous and they have much better compensation and benefits than many who do more dangerous jobs. There's also a lot of room (This is mostly on the politicians and leadership) for their jobs to be done better and cheaper.

Interesting. There's often a statement about outlawing guns will mean that only outlaws will have guns. This infers that criminals think differently. Police deal with criminals all the time one would believe that training would make them more aware of how potential criminals would think and possibly react.

From my limited knowledge, if I were in such a situation dealing with a supposed criminal who might not be thinking clearly, there's no way in hell I'm standing in front of a car.

Now I do agree that the person in the car should have just stopped, the outcome had very different potentials of they had. But I also believe this was over reaction from the beginning in this case and the officer didn't make the best choices to mitigate the situation.

There's a reason retailers instruct employees not to go after shoplifters, the value of the potentially stolen items isn't worth the risk.

We often see officers greatly overreact considering the loss and the risk.

She was just getting started. I don't think she wanted to injure him, but I think she wanted to get away and the fact that she put her car in drive and drove directly into a police officer standing in front of her proves that. Hindsight is 20/20, and it is easy to sit back and analyze slow-motion video when you have the benefit of knowing exactly what was going to happen. The people in that situation did not have that luxury.

Not all shootings. Choked, beaten and such also counts.. Oh, and shootings are not necessarily shootouts and even some of the shootouts are cops raiding the wrong places. There are good cops. I get it. None of them are Sir Galahad, even the best are handcuffed b6y the venality of the system and the worst of them are among the scum of the earth and greatly abuse their power. The worst thing is the current system is weighted to bring those people to the top. You get a bunch of immature people on ego trips playing cops and robbers who only care about looking good and power tripping.
