In his capstone paper for the class, Mr. Damsky argued that the framers had intended for the phrase “We the People,” in the Constitution’s preamble, to refer exclusively to white people. From there, he argued for the removal of voting rights protections for nonwhites, and for the issuance of shoot-to-kill orders against “criminal infiltrators at the border.”
Turning over the country to “a nonwhite majority,” Mr. Damsky wrote, would constitute a “terrible crime.” White people, he warned, “cannot be expected to meekly swallow this demographic assault on their sovereignty.”
… The granting of the award set off months of turmoil on the law school campus. Its interim dean, Merritt McAlister, defended the decision earlier this year, citing Mr. Damsky’s free speech rights and arguing that professors must not engage in “viewpoint discrimination.”
Ms. McAlister, in an email to the law school community, also invoked “institutional neutrality,” an increasingly popular policy among college administrators. It instructs schools not to take public positions on hot-button issues.

He grew up around Los Angeles and studied history at the University of California, Santa Barbara; he wanted to become a prosecutor, he said, after watching progressive-minded California prosecutors adopt policies that he believed were soft on crime.

Saw that earlier this morning. The interesting part to me is that his racist and anti-immigrant material seemed to be of minimal concern to UF. It was the antisemitism that got his ass kicked out of school.
The judge’s teaching contract should be terminated.

When Trumpers talk about making universities more "friendly" to right-wing ideas, this kind of stuff is precisely what they're talking about. And lol at all of the Trumpers on this board and elsewhere who keep arguing that Republicans aren't all about promoting white supremacy these days - their attacks on diversity and equity are rooted in the premise that whites should still have advantages and precedence in pretty much everything.

My parents grew up in Gainesville. Neither went to UF (Dad went to an Ivy; Mom married young and has 3 degrees from UNC (BA, MA, Ph.D). My Grandfather was on the UF Faculty in the late ‘40’s and most of the ‘50’s before becoming a founding Dean of a major school at an important Northeastern university.
My parents aren’t surprised by anything right-wing that happens in Florida.
My long-deceased New Dealer, WW2 vet, grandfather wouldn’t be surprised.

Over two weeks, 33 celiac patients who were in remission ingested gluten; about half had received the inverse vaccine beforehand, while the other half got a placebo. After two weeks, researchers examined the subjects’ intestinal lining and found that the inverse vaccine group had no damage, while the placebo group showed a noticeable worsening of symptoms.
The basic idea of inverse vaccines rests on using certain synthetic nanoparticles attached to particular disease-related proteins – called antigens – as targeted messengers to retrain the immune system. The nanoparticles mimic dying human cells, a normal ongoing process. Although these dying cells are “foreign”, the immune system knows not to attack them. The immune system learns to ignore both the nanoparticles and the attached proteins, and stops attacking the body.

Another wrestler states that the doctor showered with them often. He stayed with a last one and started mistreating right beside him. The wrestler got pissed and asked him what was wrong with him. The doc said, "you have a beautiful ass and penis, you should be proud of it."
Wrestler rushes out of locker room and sees Coach Russ and Gym Jordan. Jordan just replied, "that's just Strauss being Strauss."
Hasn't Jordan always said he knew nothing about what was going on or he would have done something?

I was just thinking the other day that Jim Jordan has been laying very low in 2025. He’s typically one of the most visible members of Congress.
