While I am aware that playing tit for tat hastens the end of the United States, I'd rather go out with a roar than a whimper. Bring it on you wannabe Rambos. I realize the Army is nothing like what it was in my day, but I am hoping that St. Donald of Mar-a-Lago gets a surprise when he orders the military to round up the Democrats.

Exactly. It's better than meekly surrendering because we think all of these RULEZ and NOMRZ will save us. They won't. Retaliate every single Republican gerrymandering with Democratic gerrymandering, and let it escalate to whatever level it's going to escalate.

I think this is right, not because it’s right. This has become a street fight with someone hiding knives beneath their sleeves, in their waistband, in their socks, all the while they’re gouging at your eyes and trying to rip off your balls. You can’t survive that encounter adhering to the decorum of a gentleman’s bout.

IMO, our system of government and institutions has already fallen, per the historical view of a couple of decades from now. If liberal minded peoples want impactful say in the (de)evolution of this politically bounded landmass, for the next 2-3 generations, they better drop the norms bullshit and manipulate every non violent lever feasible, from political to propaganda. You can’t hold yourself to the rules of boxing when your opponent seeks the opportunity to open your throat.

Honestly. I'd much prefer Dementia Don to be tweeting about Sydney Sweeney than letting the Russians know that we're parking a couple of nuclear-armed subs off their coast.

Agree that Sydney Sweeney shitposting is the best use of Trump's time the Dems could hope for, but I think there's a 0.0001% chance we actually moved any nuclear subs based on Medvedev's comments. That's largely because I'm sure we've had subs positioned to take out Moscow with the push of a button for the last 60+ years. That's why we have them.

Wondered where I might put this, and based on some comments this morning it fits right here.

I was listening to a podcast this morning with Patton Oswalt and Eddie Pepitone. Patton just produced Eddie’s new stand up special Collapse. There was a quip about those that are yelling and angry on social media about what trump/maga are doing are actually the sane ones. Those that are sleep walking into the coming disaster like “this is fine” are the crazy ones. It was a joke, but in good jokes there’s some truth to it.

We can’t lay down or go along with what’s happening or what we have is going to disappear.
 
There is some thought that Texas cannot get the gerrymandering done as long as the lawmakers are out of state, because they are facing a hard deadline.

If that's true, then the retaliatory efforts in CA and NY should continue to proceed.
