[The Trump Admin has fired over two dozen attorneys in that office since he was inaugurated because they were involved in J6 or Trump/GOP investigations]

U.S. plans to ease human rights criticism of El Salvador, Israel, Russia

Leaked draft reports show the Trump administration is planning to eliminate or downplay accounts of prisoner abuse, corruption, LGBTQ+ discrimination and other alleged abuses. The administration says the reports are shorter for “readability.”

The capitulation for this motherfucker is jaw dropping

And sickening. In Trump 1.0 there were a good number of corporations and media outlets that resisted Dear Leader. Remember Bezos & The Washington Post having "Democracy Dies in Darkness" on their masthead? In Trump 2.0, with a few exceptions like Harvard, it seems as if nearly every corporate CEO, university, media outlet, and everything else is just cravenly bending the knee and kissing Trump's ass as often as possible. It's as if once everyone saw him get a second term and actually win the popular vote this time they simply gave up and rolled over for him and his administration. The reasoning seems to be that if this what the American people really want, who are they to complain or resist whatever his administration and party is doing?

I get that Trump is using the virtually unlimited powers he’s been given by the “conservatives” on the Supreme Court to extort universities and corporations in ways that will undermine our democracy forever. But it really is odd to see them, and the companies in particular, sucking off a guy with a 38% approval rating that’s only heading further south.

I think it's also that he's expressed a much greater willingness (and ability through who he's brought into his administration) to use the office to settle scores and punish perceived enemies.

So is Cook Chair of the Duke Board ?
That’s Adam Silver.

Tim Cook is in the latter part of a 12-year term on the Board of Trustees (2015-27).

I hate saying it; but, UNC’s Board of Trustees and Board of Governors likely have a great higher percentage of Trumplicans.

Jamie Dimon spoke out once regarding tariffs and if IIRC, later that same day came the original TACO back down. The rest of big-corporate America has been very unimpressive. They do what is necessary to get their exemptions and then keep their mouths shut.

Link: Assemblies of God leaders address sex abuse scandal that roiled Chi Alpha campus ministry

Anyone want to guess in which state institutionalized sex abuse by right-wing religious leaders has occurred over decades? I will give you a hint, it's same state that is trying to increase the extreme level of Gerrymandering already present in that state so that the convicted sex criminal leading their national party has even more power.

I'm not the most religious person on my block, but the way Republicans openly mock the plain and simple word of God for personal profit and gradification of their twisted and preverted sexual needs would strike fear in my heart were I to do the same. It really seems obvious time and time again that a central tenet in the Republican platform is that religious beliefs are not just fairy tales, but are an excellent way of fleecing the gullible. Republicans are not just people with alternative theories of how government should work, they are actively evil persons who prevert the word of God to enrich themselves and to gratify their own morally twisted desires.

So he's taken over running the Kennedy Center (because he knows and cares so much about the fine arts), he's personally intervening in things like renaming NFL teams and trying to force the owners to bow to his whims, and now this. My guess is that he'll next just name himself the president or chancellor of one of these major universities that's bowed the knee and allowed him to take them over. Because he knows so much about education, of course. Dear Leader is apparently an expert on everything!
