I would suggest the difference is you don't have conservative influencers telling their audiences that 50% of the country (that they disagree with politically) should be banned from engaging in public activities or barred from retail establishments because they are worthless human beings. For some reason, liberals keep returning to the deplorable theme. Hey, I'm not complaining because these types of comments only help my cause.

Charlie Kirk, Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh and others regularly go into the lions den of university campuses and treat liberal questioners with respect even though it is not reciprocated.

Hahahahahahahaha!

This post perfectly sums up the idiocracy of Trumpanzees. There is absolutely no reasoning with someone who believes this shit.

LOL about Ben Shapiro or Charlie Kirk engaging with respect. You know who engages with the other side respectfully? Ezra Klein. You should check him out. Ben Shapiro my ass.
I've never accused Ezra Klein of being unreasonable. I read his material often.
It's wild that you think liberals are the ones who want to ban people from public activities or bar from retail establishments. Always projection with you mfers. The GOP doesn't want gay or trans people to exist, and if they must, not to be gay or trans in public even the slightest bit. Unless they are GOP cult leaders. Barred from retail establishments? I'm sorry, that web designer in Colorado who refuses to accept gay people as clients. Is that this GOP tolerance you're talking about?
Most Rs (including me) have absolutely nothing against gays or trans people - for the 1M+ time. The issues we have are gender altering surgeries for minors or trans people in locker rooms or in women's sports.
Ben Shapiro wouldn't last five minutes in a debate with me. He'd be crying for his mom within two. That guy is a complete wuss with nothing to say. For being such a supposed whiz kid, he didn't even get magna at Harvard. You can get magna at Harvard without trying very hard -- trust me on that. If you've got the chops. If you're a dullard, you take the conservative courses with the conservative profs who hand out As like candy (in fairness, they will give As in their seminars to liberals too, but no liberal wants to take classes about stupid shit like competitive federalism), and maybe with those free grades you can eke your way into cum laude. Like 50% of Harvard graduates cum laude.

No argument that Harvard hands out As like candy.

Harvard does not hand out As like candy. Some Harvard profs do, usually in seminars.

If most Rs don't have anything against gay people, why is there so much anti-LGBTQ legislation emanating from R legislatures, and so much lobbying on that issue from R influencer or lobbyist types?

this is quite simply not. true. you are either wildly delusional or a liar.

59% of self identified republicans don't believe that same sex marriage should be legal. 62% of republicans / lean republican don't believe that trans people should be protected from discrimination in jobs, housing and public spaces.

"absolutely nothing against" MY ASS. most R's are in fact very prejudiced against the lgbtq community.

There are Five Trans athletes in American high schools. Five. There are rules about testosterone levels.

Most gender affirming surgeries in 18 and under are breast reductions for boys (man boobs),

The medical community does few trans surgeries in 18 and under...and they are becoming fewer based upon medical evidence. Any medical decision between physicians and parents with child is private and none of anyone's damn business. That's the traditional societal and conservative or libertarian view.

We elect criminal clowns like Trump based on these phony criteria. Pathetic and embarassing.

One of many instructive and funny scenes in Monty Python's Life of Brian is when the new cult (the proper name for a new religion) of Brian splits into two factions: "Follow the gourd!" and "No! Follow the shoe!" Any cult begins to angrily fractionate soon after it forms, reason being, cults and religions are not based on objective reality but invariably focus on the "I am right, others are lost" ego reinforcement. It's why Christianity, for example, has splintered into many thousands of sects.

One ray of hope is that the Trump cult can begin to splinter and attack itself in ways as internally damaging as possible.
I hope it will split as well, but unfortunately I don't think that will happen until Dear Leader has passed away. As long as he's alive I suspect that they will all continue to blindly follow his lead like lemmings, even if it's straight over a cliff. After he passes, though, I think that there will be a battle royale over who will succeed him, and it will likely be ugly and brutal, and hopefully the cult will split into different factions, just as you said.

It’s liar.

My working idea is the maniacs that are always consuming RWM (even more so if through social media) believe that we’re all just as gullible as they are, that they can say whatever they want and we’ll just eat it up like they do.

There’s plenty of stupid people that just repeat the nonsense they see and hear. Then there’s the Ram types - just the most unbelievably average people that think there’s something special about them - that have to lie to themselves and others to live in the maga fever swamp. We all know just how toxic and awful trump and everything around him is, they have to justify living there though.

"The current 47-point gap between Republicans and Democrats is the largest since Gallup first began tracking this measure 29 years ago."

i don't know what alternate reality Ram is living in but his crew is essentially more bigoted than ever.

Same reality as his daddy and granddaddy in 1961. "We don't hate black people, we just don't want to see them or associate them in any capacity other than domestic employment."

@Ramrouser frequently purports to speak for his tribe -- often confidently, rarely accurately.

He thinks he speaks "Trump" and that he can divine what Trump really means, as if he has some secret decoder ring that liberals do not have. Same for the views of fellow MAGAs. He thinks he knows what other people think.

And inevitably, it is always soft-pedaling the views of others. Oh, Trump doesn't mean what you think he does. Oh, Republicans don't mind gays, etc., etc.

An illegal immigrant wouldn't fit the definition of a free person.
And neither would any Trump voter with a net worth less than ten figures. Maybe we could make voting only available to those who (a) own their home(s) free and clear, (b) have a home equity loan with a zero balance, and (c) have no credit card debt that is older than 60 days. I guarantee you at the time the Constitution was written, the above three conditions would not have excluded anyone the Founders wanted to vote.

She seems nice. Embodiment of modern Democratic Party. As Carville notes: “We got too many preachy females in our party.”

While I’ve never set foot in a Cracker Barrel, its noteworthy that it now has a completely new decor.
It's about damn time the Dems start standing up for themselves. Lord knows the Pubs have been the loudest whiners in the room since MAGA was allowed to metastasize. And you can take your fat, weirdo ass to Cracker Barrel.

They've always been this bigoted. They just don't have to hide it anymore. Being an outted total dickhead moron has become socially acceptable thanks to Trump.

There was once a time where it was universally understood that Nazis were bad and any association with them was bad. Now we have mainstream politicians cozying up to Nazi apologists.
