Here's what's extremely weak: that he's fucked up so much in only 19 days. The trend is not your friend. The comparisons are only going to get worse.

Consumer confidence plummeted this month. Inflation expectations increased (probably the single most important driver of inflation). The job market cooled off significantly and we are close to negative job growth, because business investment has dried up due to uncertainty. Laying off federal workers en masse is a form of contractionary economic policy that will almost certainly cause higher unemployment and could cause negative growth.

Where do you think this is headed?

Interest rates are considerably higher since election day. Inflation is up. Job growth is down and falling. And it's ALL because of the economic uncertainty Trump creates. Nobody wants to build anything in America right now because what's the market? Will exporting from America be a thing in nine months? Who the fuck knows. Will America be in a recession? Who the fuck knows -- but note, the drying up of business investment is exactly the sort of thing that creates recessions.

Trump has done more damage to the economy in 19 days than any president has done ever. Probably more damage than the first 19 days of all post-war presidents combined.

1. Inflation was a huge issue for most trump voters. trump said he would bring down prices on day 1. You knew he was lying and you were good with that. Many of his voters trusted him and have been betrayed.

2. How is the military stronger with Hesgeth than with Austin, Milley, and Fagan?

I just want to point out what calla is doing here. For the last four years, while Biden was leading the country out of the pandemic, through global inflation, and through international crises in Ukraine and the Middle East, the moral dregs of the universe, led by Donald J. Trump himself, were having a "meltdown" every hour of every day, starting with the insurrection on January 6 and culminating with the absurdly racist MSG rally at the end of the campaign. I will never contend that Biden did everything right, but when the worst people on the face of the planet are throwing daily hissy fits, it's a pretty good sign he did more right than wrong.

Now, the ones "melting down" are, for the most part, the experts. The highly educated. The people who stand in the gaps for the poor and the marginalized. The people who have been shat upon time after time by self-proclaimed Christians and other moralists. The only people celebrating the first three weeks of Trump's presidency are, once again, the dregs of human society.

So let's not be deceived. This MAGA dancing on graves cannot become some false equivalence between the "meltdown" MAGA experienced for four years under Biden, and the "meltdown" the entire rational world is having right now. They are not at all the same thing.

There will continue to be Trump “victories” over transgender Americans, killing off government program after government program (that those programs benefit disease control, healthcare, education in poor areas, transportation and infrastructure, American diplomacy, etc., etc. is no concern; killing off beneficial programs is a plus, not a negative), claims about “securing” the border, claims about “trade deal wins,” claims about “rebuilding” the military…….lots of opportunities to crow about Trump, Musk, and MAGA.
