I actually believe in limited government-- which was always a tenet of Conservatives-- but Trump is the most activist, interventionist politician our country has ever seen and not even close.

There is no aspect of American lives that Trump does not want to dominate in FULL. And if the news is bad from that, remove the news and those providing those facts.

MAGAts will keep believing their dear leader bc that is what is overwhelmingly reinforced for them (rather Soviet style pro state media, isn't it?), but there will be enough people to realize they were played (hi Joe rogan) that this "movement" will stall.

Not saying Rogan et al will switch sides, but doubt they will carry MAGA water unchecked any longer

Rogan has already started getting way more critical from what I hear. The orange luster is long gone.

Trump has the same extremist views on tariffs than Sam Brownback had on tax cuts when he became Kansas governor, which had disasttous consequences and the tax cuts we reepealed.

We will see if Canada slaps some surcharges on their oil expots to US, and Carney unleashes the Ontario leaders to play the electrricity power card/ Sort of rare earths ploy, Canada style

1. Dependable and accurate economic data

2. An independent central bank

3. Rule of law and check and balances


Our economic word doesn't mean sh*t. The dollar becomes worthless. Our (former) economic friends trade with China and other countries. No on wants US treasury bonds.

Thinking Canada is waiting till Monday, rather than bury the news on a Friday.
 
Not on topic but somewhat related by insanity: trump repositions nuclear submarines nearer Russia. What does trump care? He is 78. His decisions are made out of spite. Why not push the button and we all die?

That is why I laugh when all the Trumpers tried to defend the BBB by saying that growth would overcome the OMB budget deficit forecasts. They were getting on TV predicting that we would have sustained 4% GDP growth as a result of the BBB. It is just fantasy land.
