Trump is headed out to do a series of rallies, supposedly to focus on domestic economic matters. Seems like a weird time of year to do this … at this point, purely politically (in terms of what people are paying attention to), why not wait until after the New Year?

Just as soon as they can point to real metrics that show it's getting better.
They've already convinced a huge amount of Americans that Biden took office in early 2020, why not keep him in office until 2026 or later?

Trump's an idiot. All he had to do was NOTHING and he would have taken all the credit. The economy was on track. Tariffs, the inflationary BBB, uncertainty in science investment/funding by Trump admin. has stifled growth and hiring/jobs. Especially for those entering the job market with skills in science and biomedical areas.

Brussels has unveiled strategies in several legal proposals seeking to encourage local industry. Those efforts include the new €150 billion loans-for-arms SAFE program, but third countries like the U.S. can only supply a maximum of 35 percent of the value of weapons systems.
Landau's broadside is the latest in a long list of blows by the current U.S. administration to its historic partners, which includes pressuring the EU into accepting a humiliating trade deal to stave off tariffs.

I literally can't remember the last time Ramrouser, Pandemic, Callatoroy, etc. offered a principled defense of Trump's economic policies. Maybe last February? They know Trump is an economic terrorist. They'll never say it here, but they know.
