El Salvador agrees to hold U.S. prisoners and deportees of any nationality in their jails for a fee

Asked about sending Americans to Salvadoran prisons:

“We have hard hardened criminals, horrible people, you see them pushing peopling to subway … and that happens all the time. These are sick people. Uhhh if we could get them out of our country we have other countries that would take’em it’s no different than a prison system except it would be a lot less expensive. And it would be a great deterrent send them to other countries. We could go a step further. In other words we’re talking about getting the criminals out of our country that come in through the other countries illegally, right, the illegal migrants as I call them. Well we have people that are just as bad as them in our country. If we could get them out I’d be very happy “
 
It was so much easier back in the day when all criminals were just sent to Australia.

But there was an understanding that they couldn’t come back to England. If they did, they would be sent to prison for immediate execution of their sentence.

The 14th is already optional for the states.
 
El Salvador is likely the last resort destination for illegals - only after their country of origin rejects them. Of course, Trump's having success with the South and Central American countries agreeing to take them back so there may be no need for El Salvador to detain illegals. I'm not "tickled" by anyone being sent to an El Salvadorian prison but you need deterrence. I doubt anyone is actually sent there.

if you don't like the way illegals are being deported by Trump maybe next time you get into power don't let 10.5M into the country illegally. When one party favors open border the pendulum swings hard the other way. First, for two years you claim there's no problem and the border's secure. Next, you claim you need this magical "border bill" in order to make any headway on the border. Finally, last June you start to secure the border due to the November election. America wants this issue addressed.

No US citizen will be detained in El Salvador.

BTW, Rubio is off to a great start as SOS.
 
The Trump Open Border is a complete and utter disaster right now. Trump has left our southern border completely unsecured and we are being invaded hourly by bad hombres. We used to have a country.
