Throwing this out there to potentially quell the concerns about the Trump admin.

You say Elon has the financial wherewithal to remove any elected official. I think Trump wins this election without Elon, but that's just speculation.

I recognize that financial support is huge...but I also know that Harris spent about double Trump and still lost.

I would also note that even Trump himself, when he put his full support behind candidates, couldn't get Kari Lake, Dr. Oz, etc elected. He has short coattails.

In other words, I don't see Congress agreeing to anything that is going to put the Republicans at risk in 2026, 2028 and beyond. Trump will be gone. While Trump is popular, none of the other MAGA-type underlings are and he's barely able to get his people into office when he's in power now.
Harris campaign spent more than Trump campaign, but that omit the spending (such as Musk’s) which was done through groups outside the campaign.

There are limits to how much a person can donate to a campaign, so the big money donors operate outside the campaigns. Harris had more money than Trump from “small” donors, but not from the super-wealthy. Those big donor love Mr. Populist lol.

Mr Populist will reward them well... along with himself and his clan. If you thought the White House was a litter box for political graft and general corruption during trump's first administration, hang around for act two. Not to worry. The likes of Lindsey Graham will be around to add aromatic excuses to quell the stench.

This is extremely naive. Outside dark money PACs can spend unlimited amounts. Musk controls Twitter and can spread immeasurable misinformation about a candidate. He may not be able to elect nutjobs in a general election but he can get nutjobs nominated against “mainstream” Republicans in GOP primaries because Republicans are much more susceptible to his bullshit in primaries than non-Republicans in general elections.

He is threatening to primary Republicans who don’t get on board the Elon train and he can most assuredly remove them from office. Whether he can then elect his nutjob challengers is another question but the threatened party is out in any case.

I agree that a lot of money makes its way through PACs, but that true for both parties. It seems unlikely, given the large spread on individual donations, that there wasn't a similar spread on donations outside of individuals.

Maybe that’s something good for you to look up.

Most of the money was deployed against Democrats…..the folks peddling lies about illegal immigrant trans prisoners and such nonsense.

Musk: "By now, they should know that I mean what I say"

Except when I call a British diver a pedo, or say that Tesla is going private at $420, or tell my baby mamas that I will be a good dad.
Or that full self driving will be working next quarter (after you paid $10k extra to have it on your Tesla in 2016)

Democrats are starting to talk about how it is president Elon and he's got the power, not Trump

That's brilliant. It will start to get Trump riled up big time and get them going after each other

Elon has a lot of money to spend, no doubt. He may talk a good game, but money isn't the be all-end all. Trump has had incredible success and a historic comeback, but we've seen that other maga candidates don't have the same mojo, even when they are "Trump in heels", a la Kari Lake.

I'm not saying Elon will have no success getting R candidates through the primaries, but I think it will ultimately benefit Democrats because voters in purple states do a good job of keeping garbage MAGA candidates out of office.

Kamala could have squashed the "trans prisoners" thing any time she wanted.

Your naivete is very endearing.

Elon isn't in Congress. He holds no office. He has no accountability to voters. There is no mechanism to control him because the Republicans are entirely in his pocket. He bought a government and he will run it as he sees fit.
That didn't take long. Your naivete is very endearing. Looks like Elon didn't buy quite as much government as you think.
