“… “I don’t do drawings. I’m not a drawing person. I don’t do drawings,” Trump said on Monday. “Sometimes people would say, ‘Would you draw a building?’ and I’ll draw four lines and a little roof, you know, for a charity. But I’m not a drawing person. I don’t do drawings of women — that I can tell you. They say there’s a drawing of a woman, and I don’t do drawings of women.”

… “Epstein was always a very controversial guy,” Trump said. “I was at a very high position—pretty much all my life, in all fairness. I’ve been doing this for a long time: the top show on television, number one bestsellers. I had everything, right? I was a very successful business guy. He was very controversial. Who would do a controversial drawing?”

Trump also noted that other prominent figures wrote birthday cards for Epstein.

“They say there were many letters done by many people — and many big people, big successful people,” Trump added.…”

Seriously, why is the headline on every news service in the world right now not:

"Trump: Convicted sex trafficker Epstein 'stole people that worked for me'"

???

“… Those files were run by the worst scum on earth -- Comey, Garland, Biden. They can easily put something in the files that's a phony.…”

Nikki Haley Gop GIF

Worst scum on earth - Comey, Garland, and Biden.

Excluded from his list of worst scums on earth is his longtime friend and convicted rapist and pedophile - Jeffrey Epstein.

“…You’d imagine Trump would prefer not to be in a situation where his best strategic move appears to be to flirt with pardoning one of America’s most despicable criminals. But there is a strategy at work here.

… The main thing to remember is that the White House and its allies are trying to shift the story’s center of gravity away from the Epstein files …

Maxwell, however, provides a potential new center of gravity for l’affaire Epstein.

If Trump and his allies can convince their base that she, rather than the Epstein files, is the key to unlocking the Epstein story, they can recast their own role in that story: not as the people holding back the critical information for reasons they can’t adequately explain, but as the people seeking out the critical information by getting Epstein’s top co-conspirator to at last spill the beans.

This, of course, is also why the White House has continued to advance the preposterous notion that the Epstein files currently in their possession were likely doctored during the Biden administration to hurt Trump.

Trump’s media allies have picked up on this line too: “If anybody actually has the information of what has happened around Jeffrey Epstein, it’s not going to be some James Comey–created file,” Charlie Kirk said last week on his radio show. “It’s going to be Ghislaine Maxwell.”…”

Trump lawsuit against Murdoch and 'Wall Street Journal' turns personal

“…
In the legal filings — and on social media — Trump says he personally told media mogul Rupert Murdoch that the racy birthday greeting he had supposedly sent two decades earlier to the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein had been faked and did not exist. Murdoch's Journal reported it anyway, despite Trump's warning.

Now, Trump is asking a federal judge in Miami to compel the man he once called "my very good friend Rupert Murdoch" to answer his lawyers' questions under oath within 15 days of the order. Trump's legal team acknowledges that the ink is barely dry on the lawsuit — there is no schedule of court deadlines yet — but argues that Murdoch is unlikely to testify in person whenever a trial occurs due to his advanced age and health issues.…”

There’s simply no way that Trump pardons Maxwell, is there?

If you’re someone who things that Epstein is a major cause and you want everything involved exposed and everyone prosecuted, that would be the biggest step left to be taken in the wrong direction.

How in the world is this supposed to help Trump with his base?
That’s how bad whatever is in there is. He’d rather take this blowback… I think he definitely would pardon her.

Yeah, that would be a trial preservation deposition, and there's no reason it should take place at this super-early stage of the litigation unless Trump's team has reason to actually think Murdoch is on death's door. If the request is opposed by Fox, I'd expect it to be denied.

Now, it's possible Fox WANTS Murdoch to have the chance to go on the record as early as possible. I'd love to see more depositions in cases like this made public. But if I were to put money on it, I'd bet this case will be settled before Murdoch ever has to testify.

Couldn’t they say the same for Trump?

So the monster that Murdock helped create and bolster to power somehow grew beyond his control and got out of hand? I mean, who could have possibly seen this coming. If there were only some religious or secular mainstream allegorical example or precedent in either print media or film somewhere of this kind of thing occurring, this crisis could have been averted.
