I just want a president who isn't a massive piece of shit. Is that too much to ask? Damn!

Back in 2016, when I had a conversation with anyone who was Trump-curious, I always said that he would be bad for our national soul. I have never been so disappointed to be right. Here we are watching masked federal police invade people's homes. Here we are watching a president pardon people who broke into the capital and assaulted cops while trying to prevent an election certification. Here we are watching a president who pardons a bitcoin CEO who plead guilty to money laundering, and then said he didn't know who he was. Here we are watching a president who commuted the sentence of George Santos. Here we are talking about a president who "grabs them in the pu--y", jokes about how sexy his daughter is, brags about watching girls in a beauty pageant getting dressed and cheated on his third wife with a porn star. And now we are actually having a serious conversation about how close of a friend the president was to a pedo / child trafficker and if he actually had sex with minors. That conversation shouldn't even be happening! In what world is that even remotely acceptable? Do Trumpers not see how far they have fallen? Do they not recognize the gutter they're in?

Good God, isn't enough enough? Have some fucking self-respect, people!

I do wonder if this could ultimately bring him down, Nixon style. There's a reason he has fought so hard to keep this out. Probably why he ran again because he thought he could eliminate it.

And it feels enough people are anti-Epstein that MAYBE it has sway. This isn't a Russia thing that is hard for idiots to picture. This is raping kids. Kind of on everyone's don't-do list.

I mean Epstein's black book (contact/address book) has been out in the public domain for how long? Is anybody going through and systematically smearing anyone found in there? No. Why would this be different?

Great post that tells it like it is. But the answer is no, Trumpers don't realize (or just refuse to) how far they've fallen. They've made a total mockery of their claimed religious beliefs and turned Evangelical Christianity into nothing more than a partisan arm of MAGA, they blindly adore a man who is the exact opposite of Christ in nearly every way, their cult-like party has made a joke of any principles that Republicans traditionally claimed to stand for. Small government? LOL. Free trade? LOL. Adherence to Constitutional principles? LOL. Respect for law and order? You've got to be kidding. But hey, he's cut my taxes a little and he hates who I hate and he's using the government to destroy their careers and occupy their cities and make them suffer. And so I'm all for it!

MAGA is a movement literally held together by hate and fear and loathing, and nothing good is going to come from such a movement. They've turned the federal government into a cheap and tawdry reality show, and his "renovation" of the White House into a white trash gold crap castle is a perfect symbol of the gutter we're all living in. There was a time when we had presidents who could inspire us and behaved with dignity, a Congress that actually did some work and did what it was supposed to do, a Supreme Court that wasn't bought and sold by far-right interests, and a nation that wasn't a complete laughingstock around the globe. But that all seems like a lifetime ago.

Once again, do you REALLY think that if there was incriminating and explosive evidence about Trump in the Epstein Report Biden would have found some way to leak it to the press? It's not like the Biden Administration wasn't doing everything possible to put Trump in jail; bankrupt him; and keep him off the ballot in several states but, by golly, they didn't feel right about releasing classified materials in the Epstein Report unless all Is were dotted and all Ts crossed? If it's as bad as y'all are fantasizing it is then it would have been the "game changer" the Dems were looking for to take Trump out.

Likely some embarrassing info about Trump and his friends and allies will come forward by the release but don't think the Dems and their allies are clean as a whistle on this issue.
