Federal judge rejects Trump DOJ’s bid to unseal grand jury materials in Ghislaine Maxwell case​

also pointed to the fact that much of the grand jury material that the DOJ is seeking has already been public and was presented during Maxwell’s trial in 2021.

“It consists of garden-variety summary testimony by two law enforcement agents. And the information it contains is already almost entirely a matter of longstanding public record, principally as a result of live testimony by percipient witnesses at the 2021 Maxwell trial,” Engelmayer wrote.

The judge also said that it was clear the government was not familiar with the Maxwell trial record, “because a number of details that it identified as non-public in fact had been testified to during the trial.”

“A member of the public, appreciating that the Maxwell grand jury materials do not
contribute anything to public knowledge, might conclude that the Government’s motion for their unsealing was aimed not at ‘transparency’ but at diversion – aimed not at full disclosure but at the illusion of such.” …”

I swear to God and Sunny Jesus, every time you post I feel my own brain cell count plummeting.

First of all, online searches are down 89% because Trump has a stranglehold on any new information. I am 100% of the belief that Trump is implicated in some way, and you know how many times I've searched for Epstein info online in the last couple of weeks? ZERO. Not once. I know he's involved. I also know that info will not see the light of day, probably ever, but definitely not while he's in charge. So I'm not going to waste my time on it.

Second, as for Harry Enten's ridiculous stat that less than 1% of all respondents believe that the Epstein files are the nation's most important issue...well no fucking shit. Who the hell thinks it's the most important issue? I mean, WTF kind of dumbass stat is that? We've got a president currently taking apart the United States government piece by piece and molding it back into an autocracy, killing international trade, alienating all of our closest allies, cozying up and capitulating to despotic leaders around the world, cratering our economy with his ridiculous tariff wars, taking an axe to medicaid and social security in order to line the pockets of billionaires, rolling back every environmental legislation ever passed, sending the United States armed forces into U.S. cities in order to terrorize U.S. citizens, kidnapping people off the street with his own personal Gestapo and sending them to prisons in other countries, rolling back LGBTQ rights everywhere he can, white-washing United States history by removing anything resembling DEI, and halting the development of MRNA vaccines because his crackpot secretary of health and human services was promised a position in his cabinet to help him seal an election win. Needless to say, the Epstein case shouldn't be ANYONE'S main issue right now. Ridiculous stat by Enten, and shame on him for highlighting it like it's a major revelation.

Third, Trump's numbers are "holding steady" because of people like YOU and your entire family: Dumb, mouth-breathing imbeciles that won't turn on Trump no matter what, because they'd much rather watch the country burn than admit they were duped by a conman. There will always be a base of support for him that will never recede, no matter how inept he is and how many crimes he commits. If "holding steady" means he hasn't dipped even further below 40%, then okay I guess. Congrats. But understand this: He's underwater on EVERY SINGLE ISSUE. Every one, even the ones that were supposed to be his strengths (economy and immigration). And his approval with independents has completely cratered. He's the second-most unpopular president in history at this point in his term, only slightly more popular than...checks notes...himself in his first term. So congrats on holding steady, dipshit.
