they were hanging out with a man who traded in sharing the young girls that he did sexual things with... I think they did those things with him which was the value that they got for him... and he got access/$$/relevance from them. They participated.

You think they overlooked that and just hung out with him because he was a swell guy?

But he has likely stolen $5-10 billion for himself and his cronies. And terrified darker people. So there's that.

Obama handed Trump a golden economy in 2016 and he trashed it
Biden handed him a golden economy in 2024 and it looks like Trump will trash it once again before ( if ? ) he leaves office in 2028.

Hopefully, we will have a Democrat POTUS sworn in 2029 who is able to once again clean up the GQPer mess.

There is a constant that keeps happening in every part of the cycle you describe. The ultra-wealthy keep accumulating more and more regardless of what part of the cycle we are in.

Okay, you think that. Some probably did. Is there any evidence that Summers did from the emails or anything else?

In some cases, but Epstein got big enough where he was a player in his own right. He held scientific conferences on his island. Not that scientists can't be pedos but I doubt they all came for the sex. Bill Gates was there too. Again, maybe he was cheating but I have my doubts.

I have no idea what Summers was doing there. I would say it's unlikely he was banging young girls because he was apparently trying to move on his research assistant (who would be much younger than him but still well into adulthood). Why he would ask Epstein about how to do that is beyond me. Why he would put it in writing is beyond stupid. I saw a stat a while back that 1/3 of all university professors were married to a former student. I don't know if that was current or an estimate from the past, and obviously there is a lag because a professor in 1958 who marries a student (considered normal back then) might still be married to that person in 1998. Still, it's sort of pathetic and it appears Summers wanted to kick it old school.

I would never date a former student unless she had established herself independently. Like if she had become a professor herself, or a top lawyer, or even a Supreme Court clerkship I suppose. Something to flatten the hierarchy.

Something that referenced a young girl in a romantic sense. Like asking for someone's contact info or thanking Epstein for that invite to the house with so and so.

The only thing close that I saw in any article is Summers getting relationship advice about an unnamed woman. Its not really clear how old this woman is but there is mention of her only wanting a professional connection vs a romantic one. That hints at an older woman.

And that's about it. Lots of emails back and forth for years with personal and fundraising topics but nothing about underage girls. The ones I saw were informal and don't seem to be guarded. I think it needs something more than Larry Summers was close with Epstein.

Let's not go too rosey on our memories.

Harris lost in no small part because the "golden economy" Biden created was not reaching everyone - the uneven accumulation of benefits meant that even though things were good, most people weren't enjoying the rewards, and resented being told things were good when they didn't feel good.

The rising tide did not lift all boats at the same pace, and a lot of people were feeling tossed about in the process.

Not rosy in my memory... just basing the "golden economy" on actual data compared to when Biden took office and where the economy was when Trump entered office in January.

But I can't argue with that. Perception is reality .


Hopefully, those people will resent being told by Trump that things have not only just been good but the best that it has ever been in all history since he took office in January.

He issued a pretty clear apology and has effectively removed himself from public life....this is not something you do simply because your name might be in a couple of emails...

Maybe. There are people here that want to fillet him based on his friendship with Epstein. Nothing more. If it does come out he was boffing a young girl or had some knowledge of Epstein's activities, I want to do the same but until then, just moving out of the public eye is not enough for me.
