ESPN gone from YouTubeTV

Are most or all of our games uploaded to Youtube once they're done?
Yes, For the most part. You can get pirated versions of highlights 2 to three hours after the game is over. But if you’ll wait till the next day, you can get NCAA and UNC sanctioned highlights and condensed games. Sometimes you will get a 20 or 30 minute condensed game version which is pretty cool. It Fast forwards through all the dead spots, commercials etc. etc. free throws, etc. shows all the highlights. It’s pretty cool way to watch a game the day after.

So what's the consensus - assuming we don't want to go Captain Jack on this shit?

1) Keep YTTV in hopes they cut a deal? (And thereby do without any games on ABC & ESPN for the time being...)
2) Keep YTTV and wait for the $20 credit? (And thereby do without any games on ABC & ESPN. Period)
3) Keep YTTV and use the $20 credit toward a new Hulu monthly account for $19.99 introduction offer? (and then deal with whatever seems best when that runs out - and kicks in to the $89 per month premium)
4) Say screw it and sign up for, and keep, both Hulu and YTTV because I can afford it and don't care about two, similar subscriptions for $89 per month each?
5) Say screw it, I'm going back to my local cable provider?
6) Say screw it, I'm cancelling everything, throwing away all my TV's and start reading books again, and going to the local pub to watch any game I must see... and/or watching the replays and highlights on YouTube the next day on my computer?
I’m stuck with number 1 because I bought Sunday Ticket to watch every Bills game that isn’t national.

I’m guessing I will have to pirate the BB game on Monday.

Fubo is also an option. They have the widest range of national and regional sports channels but you give up some some dependable channels like CNN, AMC, TNT. If you're a sports nut and don't watch much else it might be the play. Not sure its right for me though.

I don't understand people blaming YTTV for this. It's obvious what Disney is doing, trying to get people to switch from YTTV to Hulu and Hulu Live.

Not blaming YouTube TV… I just want my $20 “credit” in the form of a refund. They knew this was going to happen and waited until they had everybody’s $89 for the month of November… knowing full well they weren’t going to be paying Disney for the November service. They’ve already as much as admitted the Disney deal is worth at least $20 per month per subscriber. They sold us all a pig in a poke. For at least a month. If they don’t get a deal done by November 30, then and only then will they give us $20 buck off for December. That’s fine. But I want reimbursed for screwing me out of $20 for November.

That’s my beef with YTTV

Can YouTube/Google really not find a leverage point to offset ESPN’s leverage in the broadcast TV world?
Neither YouTube nor Google actually create content. They both simply regurgitate content created by others. Disney and ESPN actually generate or otherwise “create” content. So, no. No leverage by a non content creator over those who actually create content. Disney and ESPN have their own apps and also Hulu to show their content. They don’t need YouTubeTV. Nobody “needs” google either. So many other search engines.

I agree. And it should be $30 since you have to get the $30 bundle with ESPN Unlimited to see the games that are on the ESPN channels.

Distribution platforms certainly can have leverage against content creators, ESPN just may be an example of a creator that’s too large for it to have impact.

Guess it's coming down to does Disney think it will make more money not being on YTTV by forcing people to switch to Hulu Live TV or ESPN Unlimited, or if they would make more money from Google staying on YTTV. YTTV has more subscribers than Disney, and this could just end up making people pissed at Disney. It could backfire and make people that have YTTV and Disney+ to drop Disney+. You'd think Disney would have learned about pissing off people when they had so many unsubscribe from Disney+ after they took Kimmel off the air.
