ETA: I don't have any problem with veteran preferences. But I've never understood why the public regard for teachers and veterans has become inversely correlated over the last twenty years. I've encountered more than one hero in both occupations.

Yeah, the reveal in all this FAFO, is that these maga volk thought their vote was an invisible "vaccine" against the harms of fascism. They also reveal in every.single.one of these "president trump must not know!" stories that they fully expected others to be harmed, and voted accordingly.

So far, the economic anxiety rationale is loosing, fiercely, to xenophobia and hatred. Granted, at the base of xenophobia and hate is insecurity, and that has numerous inputs.
