Not sure if this is the right place for this one but I'm a member at a local golf club in the Triangle. I play with a group of 50-60 year old guys about once a month who have money games going, it's always fun. Last summer I had a number of occasions where guys would start proselytizing about Trump while I was stuck in a cart with them (random pairings). It fucking sucked and there was one offender in particular that was going to bring him up any time I golfed with him. As you can imagine that group was largely full of Trump supporters.

Dude emailed the group last week letting everyone know his contact information had changed, going from a .EPA email address to a gmail address. I looked it up and 30 people from EPA RTP got laid off due to Trump's federal workforce deductions. HATE TO SEE IT.

Billionaire Elon Musk, who has been cutting thousands of federal workers as the head of Department of Government Efficiency, on Thursday reposted a message on X saying “Hitler didn’t murder millions of people. Public sector employees did.”

The post read: “Stalin, Mao, and Hitler didn’t murder millions of people. Their public sector employees did.”

Musk's repost, which now appears to be deleted, drew furious reactions from a labor union and the Anti-Defamation League.

The Anti-Defamation League, a nonprofit that seeks to combat antisemitism, said the post was “deeply disturbing.”

“It is deeply disturbing and irresponsible for someone with a large public platform to elevate the kind of rhetoric that serves to undermine the seriousness of these issues,” the group said on social media. Musk has more than 219 million followers on X.

Back in January, Musk sparked controversy with a gesture that drew comparisons to the Nazi salute while speaking at an inaugural event for President Donald Trump.

Back then, the ADL defended Musk’s gesture as “awkward,” while it was being panned by critics.

“It seems that @elonmusk made an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute, but again, we appreciate that people are on edge,” read ADL’s post.

Matthew Sims, an Army veteran, lost his job last month as a program support assistant at a mental health clinic at a VA in Salem, Virginia, after moving with his wife and three children from Texas. He voted for Trump and said he supports reducing the size of the federal government but not this way.

“I support downsizing, but it’s just the way they’re going about doing it. It’s like the chainsaw approach, I guess, versus the surgical approach that they should be doing,” Sims said.

No, he's stupid. As is every LBGTQ person that thought it was ok to vote against themselves by voting for trump.

The republican party is clearly against all LBGTQ persons and rights.

Same with women, I don't understand how a woman could vote for a party that clearly sees them as sex objects and childbearing stay at home housekeepers.

Noel Ginestra voted for Trump, but now his sister, who is a TPS holder, is facing possible deportation. While he still backs the president, he said he hoped the TPS revocation is blocked in the courts.

“I supported him, but it disappointed us that he decided to end TPS,” Ginestra said, referring to Venezuelans. “It bothered us that he put everyone in the same bucket.”

Largest employer in the area is Trump's golf course too. I am sure he is hiring MIT grads to clean the toilets there and not desperate Venezuelans on humanitarian visas.
 
I’m really evil deep down. I’m evil because my sense of schadenfreude is at record levels these days. I absolutely LOVE it when I hear or see stories of trump voters getting their face eaten, getting their just desserts, getting their comeuppance. I can’t seem to help myself, but I get giddy all over just thinking about the pain and suffering these assholes will surely endure. I know it’s not nice of me to have these feelings, but I do, and I relish the thought. It’s like watching one of those movies when the good guy finally gets the bad guy in the end and you are literally rooting for the bad guy to die in the most agonizing and painful manner possible. You applaud the blood in the screen, the more grotesque the better.

Yet very few of them say they’d have voted differently if they had the choice.

That’s the thing that stops me from gloating. They still don’t connect the dots. They still think Trump is a god—he just overstepped on this one issue that hurt them.
