My guess is Gutfeld also has a lot of viewers whose dial has been tuned to Fox News Channel all night long.

So happy you approve. I was not sure it would meet with the approval of our board MAGAs.

The article does indicate that Gutfeld is a phenom in MAGA world. I have not listened to his political comedy schtick.

There is an adage in comedy that says making fun of a disabled or struggling person slipping on a banana peel is not funny but making fun of a pompous self important elitist slipping on a banana peel is funny.

I have not found one conservative political comedian to be the least bit funny. It's usually humor at the expense of those at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder in our country. I'll check out Gutfeld and see if his comedic target is any different.

Gutfeld is objectively not funny. Colbert can be funny, although his late show format is not the best use of his talents and is, as you note, often simply bash Trump.

Not really. He’s edgier and more libertarian than your stereotypical elderly Fox viewer that’s been consuming the channel all day. My guess is that they turn off the channel after Hannity and hit the sack.

Most Fox News viewers dont even turn it off to go to bed. The television in every room stays on a 24/7 loop of it.

He's on Fox, he has a built in audience of the obedient cult, he doesn't really have to earn anything.

Every viewer of fox news that I know, just turns it on in the morning and leaves it on all day. That's why the indoctrination works so well.

It reads like it's a better economic model more than it's a better show. It makes sense that if the late show was working off a bloated budget that it would have more risk to maintain profit than a show working off of 20 people. So Gutfart won on that point, but he's not funny, he only appeals to the regular fox viewers.

It is also very curious timing that Colbert was supposedly losing money for so long, why wait? It makes for questionable timing.

I wonder how many people still follow this model?

My mother watches Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy every night at the scheduled time. Even though I record them for her.

The rest of my family watches nothing on a schedule. I have so much content that I watch what I feel like pretty much when I want.

I also have Fox news blocked. I don't want to even accidentally stumble across it. But that doesn't mean I only get my news from far left sources. I get my news from across the spectrum on the web. It's just so much better than 98% of the news shows.
