I normally just ask them to explain to me how if the Earth is flat how GPS works. I shuts them up pretty quick.

They can’t explain how a GPS works with a spherical earth, so not being able to explain how a flat earth GPS works isn’t a barrier for them.

A couple years ago I was walking out of the moon landing room of Smithsonian Air and Space Museum with my kids and saw and older guy (60s-ish) rocking his MAGA hat walking in....

I smiled, nodded, and said "amazing exhibit, too bad we all know it is fake, right?", and kept walking out. Totally deadpan, no hint I was being sarcastic.

I saw his smile at first, then confusion, but nothing after that. Do not think that guy had any belief the moon landing was faked, but wanted to be sure that he knew he was aligning himself with those that do.

Not sure when/how/why it became a requirement to believe in bat shit crazy conspiracy theories in order to be a Republican (and not that they are alone in conspiracy theorism), but it is plainly true this is a fact for the MAGA portion anyway
