Former GOP election official buys Dominion Voting Systems

no one whose value system isn't in the toilet thinks that any people who attended a "unite the right" rally featuring assholes chanting "jews will not replace us" to ostensibly protest the removal of confederate statues is a "very fine person," full stop.

talk about misrepresentation. no one involved with that rally was a "very fine person" even if they weren't wearing a white sheet.

Ok, I think I understand. He was just talking about the very fine people who willingly and enthusiastically marched alongside the neo-Nazis and white supremacists. Makes sense.
Remember, Zen argued Elon was not giving a Nazi salute.

So he's either far too stupid to be in this or really any discussion, or he's cool with Nazis. Which, if you think about it, is the same thing.

There are people there to protest the tearing down of statues. They aren't responsible for the trash that is there with them.

I don't blame the 99.9% of peaceful BLM protesters because there's .1% violent, destructive troublemakers.

Would you blame the 1% of statute-lovers for marching alongside the 99% of neo-Nazis and white supremacists? Because there were only about 500 protestors in Charlottesville and the vast majority of them were affiliated with neo-Confederate, neo-Nazi, fascist, Klan, and/or militia movements. I'm sure those five or so statue-lovers were very fine people, though.

Perfect. Then Trump was referring to the minority...those who weren't neo-nazi/WS.... as he specifically said.

He called them the minority? You might want to read that quote you posted again. And I just want to be sure I understand what you're saying. Your view is that the five or so ("not racist") lovers of Robert E. Lee statuary that were marching alongside the hundreds of Proud Boys, Klansmen, skinheads and militia members who were chanting "Jews will not replace us" and "Blood and Soil" can be fairly considered very fine people?

You said the majority were the trash people. That means there was a minority who were not NN/WS. Those are the people he was referring to. Again, he specifically said he wasn't talking about the NN/WS. Even if he was completely wrong, and every single person there was NN/WS, he still wasn't referring to them.

I think we all get it. You're saying Trump's comment has been misinterpreted because the very small number of "not racist" aficionados of Robert E. Lee-in-marble who took the time and effort to travel to Charlottesville to hold hands and walk alongside Enrique Tarrio and his merry band of fascists while singing those classic old hymns of the Reich can, in fact, be fairly characterized as "very fine people." No need to continue this further. You have made your position clear.

Look, it's not hard. John Kelly's face when Trump said that was visible to all, if I recall correctly. His reaction tells you what you need to know about Trump's comment. Remember: he was working for the Trump administration. He was a fan of Trump in 2016.

Yes... my position is that what he was not referring to neo-nazis and white supremacists because he specifically said he wasn't referring to neo-nazis and white supremacists.

Even if he was COMPLETELY wrong and EVERY person there was a card-carrying neo-nazi, he STILL wasn't referring to them, he was just wrong about the composition of the crowd

Awhile back a version of this argument was playing out on another board I used to frequent. I decided to read articles from when it happened and watch the news conference. I would suggest anyone bored enough to also do so. The amount of batshit crazy that’s said before and after the comment being discussed is really something. It was an early indicator of just how inept don is discussing tragedies.

The news conference was a disaster. Someone arguing his comment is taken out of context is lying to you. There’s really no point in engaging such a fool.
