I think this must have been a different guy as it was a transient Harris supporter that they arrested in a hotel room. No reports of him being in a truck or schools closing. But this is a unique case.

People getting arrested for riding around in trucks with guns and closing schools is apparently so common in the United States that it doesn't merit a mention on any news sites that I found. This is in contrast to numerous mentions of snow closing schools at various districts that does seem to be newsworthy according to my Google search.

I found it reported locally. As I suspected, story is light on details. But anyway if I linked it, I would dox myself, so that's a problem. If you don't want to believe me, go for it. You only believe what you want to believe any way.

It does appear to be an isolated incident, which is fortunate. When I first posted, my ex-wife was concerned that there were many of these trucks. I think it was just one or maybe two trucks that drove around a lot.

What gets me about people who carry their pistols on their hips in public is their virtual total lack of training. And please don’t tell me about taking a one or two week class on gun safety. My SIL is a retired police captain from the force here in Burlington. The police go thru classes on a regular basis. Most of the training is how to deal with certain situations. You don’t get that kind of training at your local gun shop. My SIL was on the force for 30 years. I know he never fired his gun and I don’t believe he ever drew it. If an officer draws his/her gun they have to fill out a report indicating why. Most of these people who carry guns don’t understand the police shows on TV bear no resemblance to real police work.

1. I said I had no idea how long the police were there after the incident, which is what you asked. If you meant to ask how long they would be there in a protective function, you should have said that. But I had already answered that.

2. I said that the initial indication was that the police would be there all week. Sometimes plans change. I do know that police are there today. I can't vouch for them being there tomorrow because . . . and I know this will blow your mind, but it's not yet tomorrow.

3. I'm not arguing with you any more about this. You don't know what happened. I'm unwilling to provide proof that could dox me. Believe what you want, I don't fucking care.

Probably but this doesn't seem all that nitpicky. Long time poster probably makes up fantastical story and gets called out for it.

If a Republican came on here and said a trans kid at his son's school put some girl in the hospital playing field hockey we would want proof. If there was no news article, he'd be ridiculed. But someone, who might be a bit more touched by this election than the average person, claims that Trump supporters are riding around with guns, shutting down schools, getting arrested, and police are stationed at the school for days for fear of violence to a bunch of kids and there is no mention of it online? Call me skeptical.

Where I live, a battleground state of sorts, there have been guys in trucks with Trump flags and guns. I was at the store a while ago and I saw one drive by. I have no idea how many there are. I've heard of several. My kids school was cancelled this morning because of it, I think. I don't know if this is an isolated thing or if it's happening elsewhere.

Last I saw this shit was during the pandemic.

So some guys riding in a truck that had trump flags happened to have some guns in it which is legal by the way, caused your school officials to close school, you think? What were the doing? Riding down the road brandishing them at other motorists? Discharging their weapons? Whooping it up around the town square? Maybe they were going hunting. It is prime deer season.
