I would welcome input from Calla, ram, and other MAGA posters to weigh in on gasoline prices, the sink in the stock market and bond markets, and any opinions they may have regarding the war on Iran.

Just checked the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Is 45,830. A very few weeks ago it crested at over 50,000. Then our stupid president got the great idea to attack Iran.

I follow the bond market to tell me where the economy is headed and it doesn't look good . I still think the stock market is continuing to make a slow but steady down the path to a bear market.

For those investors coming up on retirement in the next 5 years or those who have just retired I would suggest reallocating your retirement portfolio to 50% in cash until you navigate the retirement "danger zone"
 


I find it hard to believe Trump would be desperate enough to piss off US oil companies this way … so far, they aren’t that desperate.
 
Bessent says they are lifting sanctions on Iranian oil. They want the price of oil to drop so that Iran doesn't profit as much.

1. So Iran now knows it can defeat sanctions by blocking the strait.
2. If the sanctions were working, then Bessent has given Iran a gift (the idea that Iran will be hurt by being allowed to sell its oil is legitimately bonkers). If this doesn't help Iran, it means the sanctions were never working and gee maybe we should have tried something else. Like diplomacy.

Last I heard, it appeared that Iran was actually ramping up production or at least was now selling more oil thru the Strait then it was before the war. Therefore, if the facts show that the Gulf neighbors are shipping less (because of Iran), but Iran is shipping more plus at a higher price.............do I need to say more?

The secretary must be smoking something.
