I’ve yet to see anyone fanboy. Most of the response is to your vitriol. I recently referred to Newsom as a “creature”, and said during the July chaos that I trust’m as far as I can throw him. I don’t want him anywhere near the Dem nomination.
The criticism of his voice quality, which is the way I’ve heard him for years, and whatever lighting he likely didn’t determine seem odd deflections from simply stating what you think he should do.

Well, that is an unfortunate reality of this issue. It gives me no pleasure, trust me.
It is also the fact that he chose to make a primetime speech to the nation. What percent of that speech do you think was about improving the lives of Los Angelinos and what percent do you think was about becoming President?
In terms of what he should do, he could issue press releases and do a select few interviews with media - like all other governors would do.
And when he does those interviews, he could try no to do the fake “tough guy” cussing and requesting to be arrested - which again, is simply an attempt to make the story about him.

The only one he is better than in that list is Trump. And those are some awful candidates.
The anti-Newsom crowd seems to be one strong.

I’m definitely not going to vote for him in the primaries.
Still, I’m damn glad he’s standing up to and fighting back against Trump’s fascistic and dangerous attempts at a military incursion in his state. I couldn’t care less about the lighting he uses for his press op,

Well the good news is that once these protest movements start in one city, they spread over the entire country. So soon, there will be reasons for people in other states to do “Fuck Trump” interviews.

Right. It makes you feel good that this person is saying tough things about Donald Trump. It is the same reason MSNBC built an entire programming lineup around the concept.
But the enemy of your enemy is not your friend. Newsom’s speech tonight was all about Newsom.
How could you possibly know what he is like as a person? He appears to have no core beliefs whatsoever - other than what he thinks will get him elected.

If he’s anti-Trump, I’m good with that. His being anti-Trump doesn’t make me Pro-Newsom. The “Never Trumpers” right-wing, Pro-Dubya, Pro-Reagan assholes….that they’re anti-Trump doesn’t make me like or trust them……they’re still pro-Reagan and pro-Jesse Helms.
