I think Thin Red Line was still the worst movie I have ever seen
I agree with this.Have not seen it yet but glad to see Tim Herluny listed as co-wroter. Sandler's best work IMO has come when he and Herliny co-write: original SNL, the first few Sandler movies and the 2020 SNL return of Sandler episode. Sandler is a pretty good writer but can be formulaic somewhat withouyg someone like Herliny.
Those first few Sandler movies including Happy Gilmore are a unique blend of stupidity, everyman charm, sentimentality and off the wall fairly inspored creativity. I mean who thinks of doing a scene where the paired golfer and celeb fight at a celebrity Pro Am
I think they very much leaned into the nostalgia factor and it certainly plays a big part in the movie. I can understand if some folks think it overwhelms the movie.I mean… I expected it to be dumb. I wasn’t expecting Oscar winning performances… but it just felt like something tossed together just for the sake of a sequel. They phoned it in big time… Killing Julie Bowen was lame.
