On Carolina Beach the flooding is a good bit worse than Florence in 2018, and I'm being literal, that's not an exaggeration. It's seriously bad out there.

ETA: Maybe to do with how much more built up the island is now compared to then.

* Until 1215 AM EDT.

* At 1128 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Rougemont, or 10 miles south of Roxboro, moving south at 20 mph.

HAZARD... 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE... Radar indicated.

IMPACT... Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
