It's old news. He had long Covid. He might be all better but I don't know how long "long Covid" can be and also there can be relapses.
Thanks Super. My dad and stepmom (they are in their 70s) have long covid; there can definitely be relapses. I knew Rock had covid before, but didn't realize he was experiencing a relapse.

Thanks for the thread and well wishes. I’m almost all the way back. Still have some lingering energy issues and sleep problems but I’m no where close to the lows that I was dealing with for weeks and weeks on end.

Avoid Covid at all cost. It’s not gone from our society and it can mess you up.

Yep. I had Covid in 2021 and developed an aortic aneurysm. I had my aortic valve replaced last year.

It’s amazing how far they have come with heart surgeries. I had my aortic valve replaced on a Monday and was up and walking on Wednesday. Went home on Saturday and was pretty much back to normal a few weeks later.

Wow. Scary to think about. Glad you’re seemingly doing better.

I live in fear of getting Covid again now which sucks. I’m going to be a basket case when winter rolls around and everyone is indoors.

Don't you have Covid superpowers now? Or does long Covid make you more prone to any kind of Covid in the future?

Be careful with these sort of threads! We olds can out ill/poor folks in a hurry! That said Rock I hope all the heavy lifting you did with this website helped you more than it hurt you.
Your skills and knowledge will carry you through this. Just know your doing this while you were so sick buys you boatloads of good karma! Maybe overrated but karma will help!

Rock, so glad you are doing better. My brother has pretty bad long covid. It forced him to retire. The fact that you have already mostly recovered is amazing. So happy for you.

Have a question for the board. Are you all getting a yearly Covid shot? Can we even still get them?

I usually get one every fall along with the flu vaccine.

Decent article from a couple days ago that talks about the "can we even still get them" part.

I would implore everyone to get vaccinated per your doctors recommendations.

Weird. I was just reading that same article before I saw this response. Figured after asking the question I could just look it up.

A friend (college roommate and professional collegue) is having surgery for an aortic aneurysm in a couple of weeks. I expect to help him with his recovery. Any suggestions? Or thoughts in general? Please tell me something about this.

Glad to hear you're doing well 4life. Very glad...
