Stock Market crash mainly. Tariffs/tanking the economy. Messing with my Medicare and SS. Other than that he can't really touch me. Sure, I'll "feel bad" for a ton of other folks... but at the end of the day he can't really touch me other than what I've listed. My feelings are hurt... not much else that is tangible. I'm way more fortunate than others - at 65 and retired, house paid for, no kids or grandkids.... Maybe playing footsie with other authoritarians? Withdrawing from NATO?

76 and similar but have 2 sons and 4 grandkids that will probably suffer greatly. not a newbie just mainly read and comment sparsely

So is all my pub friends thinking the dems are gonna take their guns and allow men to use women bathrooms. Take a step back and chill. You have been conditioned by your party to believe the worst.
Trump and the R party have explicitly said what they intend to do. You obviously don’t believe he/they will do what they say. That’s your prerogative. You’re welcome to play dumb and ignore what they’ve plainly laid out.

But don’t act like Ds are at fault for taking them seriously.

This one scares the hell out of me
Although change can be scary, I am not sure it would be the worst idea in the world for Europe to assume responsibility for its own defense. Europe dwarfs Russia economically and could easily build armies that are 10X Russia's power. Now, what impact would a militarized Europe cause down the road? Nuclear war? European wars? Decrease in American soft power? All are possible. But I am not sure the idea of a compact that says we will start a war if you invade any of us is a great idea. The flip side is that NATO has created the longest peacetime in world history (save a small war here and there). And that any change to the world order risks much greater conflict. On the other hand, it is not 1950 any more. Arguably, NATO has outlived its usefulness.

Maybe. But Russia is already militarized and mobilized. Europe is not, to any similar degree.

I'm fairly close to retirement - late 50s - and I'm definitely worried about what will happen if the Stock Market tanks and takes most of my retirement portfolio with it, and he cuts Social Security and Medicare. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll be able to retire when I had planned. At least our house is paid for so we won't end up on the street I guess.

Not my fault your team lost or that you cant handle your team losing better than 12 yr old petulant kid. Man up and grow a pair. We are all Americans
According to Trump actually we're not. There are his supporters who are Real Americans, and then there's Democrats and liberals who are evil and Satanist and Not Real Americans. He's said as much several times in his campaign this fall. And conservatives wonder why Trump is hated so much by so many people.

I wish they would invest more in their own defense as well, but they know we have their back. I've participated in 3 REFORGERs and they are happy to spend their money on bike lanes, healthcare, education and infrastructure. Don't underestimate how emasculated they are. Only some of the Brits and Poles have any fight left in them.
