I would have maybe had him as Top 5 but I'd firmly put him in my Top 2-3 at this point. I’m sorry it had to end this way, but many thanks to Coach Davis for his tireless years of service to the team and University. I truly appreciate all you’ve done.

Through the ups and downs - and I think there were plenty more ups than downs - your faithfulness to the UNC basketball team seemed to never waver.

We will always have those beautiful wins against K and d00k - games I plan on watching on replay many more times in the future.

That assumption would have made sense in like 1985, when we only had landlines and no answering machines. But we are now all connected 24/7. And there's always the chance that neither the players or coaches would reveal a contact by him if he asked them to keep a secret. I suspect they might have a twinge of guilt themselves. The source might not know because they know he's a source.
 
I hope Hubert finds a coaching gig somewhere and is successful and happy. I want to be excited about the future of Tar Heel basketball, but right now I'm just sad for Hubert.

I said that I didn't think they would fire Hubert, and if they did I would come back here and admit that I was wrong.

HD made them fire him. Coaching is a fraternity and someone will hire him. I don't feel any sorry and very excited that we have a chance to get back to being a contender more years than not instead of being a bubble team more years than not.

You're assuming you actually know what happened you don't. Your bias leads you to automatically thinking Hubert did something unseemly. Give it a rest. The man got fired. Go do whatever it is you to celebrate.
 
So it will be interesting to see who we can get in the coaching transfer portal. Based upon our expectations, we should not agree to anything more than a 3 or 4 year contract.
