Given that Roy strongly pushed for Hubert to be the head coach, I doubt that he'll be too happy with his removal. Given his love for UNC I don't see him completely withdrawing from the program, but I doubt we'll see him attending as many home or away games and the like, at least for awhile.
And watches from home on TV, posts a lot on the 247 board under a pseudonym , and suffers through the next hire like the rest of us? 🤔

As great as Few’s career has been, I would be a bit skeptical. Getting up there in age, and the results have been dipping slightly for the last few years (although to be fair the margin for error at Gonzaga is smaller since they don’t have as many chances to play good teams).

If it were 10 years ago I’d probably be all for it.

Given that Few is 63, I'm wondering if he will ever win a national title at Gonzaga. He's had a great run there - who had heard of the place outside of the Pacific Northwest before he came along? - but he's only been to two Final Fours in a quarter-century and despite all of the wins his teams often fall short in the tournament, although much of the gaudy win record is due to playing in a weak conference, which isn't really their fault.

That’s kind of your agent’s job…to keep you in the mix for top opportunities. If I was TJO and my agent wasn’t contacting UNC when it looks like the job is coming open, I’d be firing him. These jobs are not like the jobs people like us apply for. They don’t get posted on indeed and they wait to get applications. If your agent isn’t back channeling for you then likely someone else gets the job before you can even express interest.
It was before Indeed, but I believe there was one NC State coaching search that eventually showed up on Monster.com.

I’d be very surprised if he ever got close to a national title at Gonzaga again tbh. Feel like his window to do that was from the mid 2010s to maybe a few years ago. They have some decent tournament accolades to hang their hat on: 2 title game appearances, 6 E8s, 14 S16s. Not too shabby, but yeah I would agree that they’ve slightly underachieved in the postseason all things considered.

2017 is really the one that got away for them, fortunately for us lol.

Anyone remember the poster on IC who tried to argue— prior to the national championship— that the 2021 Gonzaga team was the most dominant college basketball team in years?
