Being cleared of Title IX violations is not the same as being cleared of misconduct. The whole situation will likely be an issue for at least some people at UNC.
He was cleared because there was no evidence to support the claims.

At least against any UF student.

And Zayden High was not cleared.

Which is somewhat relevant to the “we have higher standards at UNC” argument.
Golden wasn't cleared of his behaviors. They just didn't meet Title IX standards.

Also, the grown up leaders should probably be held to a higher standard than the athletes. High was punished.

The same UNC that hired one of the most cheating NFL coaches in history who is dating a 24 year old media whore?

And sending dick pics seems a lot less harmful than what Zayden High did.
I don’t know about that but I also wouldn’t apply the same standards for a 30-something-year-old adult and a 19-year-old kid. There was also more to the allegations just sending a few dick pic:

There was zero evidence to support the allegations. That is being cleared.

Again, there was a non-UF student who alleged through an attorney she received unsolicited dick pics. Can you find any evidence, other than the attorney statement, that he did that?
UF never said he didn't do those things.

I am not aware of any settlement.

The initial anonymous allegations accused him of sending dick pics to multiple women through Instagram.

Apparently, there was one non-Florida student who hired an attorney, but I could find no other evidence to support the claim. There was no evidence any Florida student was harassed, which is why the claim was dismissed.

Why are we talking about High? What a weird non-responsive post.

Thanks. That is more detailed information. Driving around and taking pictures of someone and DM’ing them is pretty creepy behavior. How does he have time to do that and coach the basketball team?

Golden - no
Byington, ok
Otzelberger, ok
Oats - no
Dusty May - hahahahaha
Donovan, really?
Sean May, next
McCasland, ok
Lloyd, hahahaha
Drew - no
Pitino - no
Stackhouse, I don't think so
Wright - hahahahaha
Lebo, next
Rice, next
Paige, next

I don't see Mike Malone or Jarrod Calhoun on the list. Who on that list is a great coach and a realistic option?

After Belichick, why not go after Phil Jackson?

Be careful what you wish for...

Because it is relevant to UNC standards. We let a known Title IX violator rejoin the team to the great mental anguish of the victim, who is now suing UNC.

That is relevant when considering mere allegations against a coaching candidate.

Whatever, no Golden the guy is a moral turd. Back to Donovan and Stevens please. I would take Few at this point.

That's why I said "at least some people" not all people. And I, of course, have never been a fan of that particular hire. But in any event, as ridiculous and off-putting as as I find the Belichick/Hudson relationship, it is between two consenting adults.

Also, just to make sure this is clear with respect to Golden, he was "cleared" of Title IX charges not because he didn't do anything wrong, but because he didn't do anything wrong that was part of his job as basketball coach:

ESPN on Monday obtained a copy of a letter that the university sent to a female complainant. According to the letter, the Title IX coordinator determined there was no evidence to indicate that sexual harassment "occurred within a university program or activity," and that is why the school had to dismiss the complaint. The letter noted that the complaint was initiated after the university received an anonymous report that "named multiple potentially impacted persons."

It is also telling that Golden never actually (publicly) denied the allegations, as far as I know. This was the statement he issued:

“For the last month, I have actively participated in and respected the confidentiality of an ongoing school inquiry,” Golden said in a statement posted on X. “I have recently engaged (attorney) Ken Turkel to advise me on my ability to bring defamation claims while this confidential investigation is ongoing."

"I have engaged an attorney to advise me about potential defamation claims" is the sort of thing you only say in a statement when you know you can't say "These allegations are false and I intend to bring defamation claims."

High didn’t violate Title IX. The university would not allow him to remain enrolled if he did. Not defending what he did, but it wasn’t a Title IX matter.
