IC going to On3

After posting here I decided to go over to the new IC and read the free Tar Pit board for the first time in ages. The game thread for today had all of 11 posts. Not pages, but posts. I can't recall ever seeing a UNC game thread on the old free Tar Pit (even against a minor opponent) with only 11 posts total. And the free basketball board was equally dead. Maybe it will pick up when basketball season starts, but I don't think I've ever seen both free sports boards with so little traffic.

I don't visit either board hardly at all anymore, as I get everything I need (including most sports discussions) here. I was wondering though, how is traffic on the sports boards of both 247 and IC? Is one board doing better than the other, or is traffic down on both boards? I've been wondering if IC's switch would cost them customers and posters.
247 premium football board is far lower traffic (user comments) then it used to be. Game thread generates a good number of posts, but very slow otherwise.

I think there are extremely cheap try it out deals on both sites right now. little need for free boards at the second

I think the move by IC coinciding with this particular moment during the new NIL/portal area is a significant contributing factor the lack of activity on IC.

The current NIL/portal era is new enough where we have trepidation about how it will change the landscape of college sports and has been around just long enough for us to realize that our trepidation is likely justified.

Except for the political threads, it's actually pretty dead here, too.
Office Space No GIF

Given that political threads make up the vast majority of our content, the uptick in engagement due to Charlie Kirk’s shooting, and our rock steady site traffic numbers, all is well here.

Our hosting fee is $100 a month and we were given notice that we might have to move up to the $250 a month tier given how much engagement we get. That’s why we locked in the year cost with the help of everyone’s donations. <3

Would be great if all the stragglers from IC and 247 just come here. Heel Talk, too. There is more traffic here than all three of the boards there.

In retrospect we've really become the little board that could. I visit Heel Talk occasionally (never post there) and enjoy the discussions here more, although they do have some good posts over there from time to time, but the community is so much smaller it limits the opinions you read on given topics. I do think it's funny that this board was forcibly separated from the ZZL on the old IC, then kicked off IC entirely, and we now have more traffic than they do. And to think of all those embittered Trumpers in the old ZZLP's last days back in 2024 who said this board wouldn't last...

How is the traffic measured? Would 30 accounts who generate 30,000 posts (total) in a week be considered higher traffic that 3,000 accounts which generate 20,000 posts (total) in a week? (I'm assuming creating new threads is equivalent in measure to creating a new post in an existing thread.)

I was curious as to what conservatives were saying and remembered The Main Board on On3 that I brought up before.

Holy shit. Apparently On3 is ok with members posting for openly murdering liberals, users legitimately saying we need to kill them gruesomely. Suggesting how to kill them. Etc.

It is absolutely bananas that that company turns the other way to that stuff.
Yep, I've visited The Main Board from time to time for almost a decade now and it's more toxic and unhinged than ever. I wonder if the PTB at IC are aware that this type of politically-charged, extremist rhetoric is permitted on the platform. I can't imagine that Ben, Buck, etc. would approve.

I created a $1 trial account the other day and was shocked at how little traffic even the premium boards are getting. I expected it to be less than what it was on 247 but it’s a complete ghost down compared to what it was.

Money talks. They probably got paid more to be on On3.
