Projection, the answer is always projection with these people. It's not the courts who are threatening our democracy, it's Donald Trump and his fucking cult that believe they are above the law. Trump is himself a convicted felon and far too many of those around him have been accused of committing some pretty serious crimes, including sexual assault. We know that Dear Leader's administration has already arrested and detained at least one actual American citizen, if they're allowed to get away with these deportations without due process how long will it be before they're rounding up and deporting actual US citizens without due process? Or just arresting his critics and either detaining or even imprisoning them here in the USA - maybe in Trump's Louisiana gulag? Only a matter of time, almost certainly.

Silence ? seriously ?

Trump won the popular vote by 1.5% with a margin of votes less than Hillary and Biden

and Trump won, not because of concern about brown hordes invading our country, but because of the price of eggs which are now at an all time high at a bit over $6/dozen and 20 % higher than when Trump took office

Right. The implication of this, even if he were right about the numbers, which he is not, is that a presidential candidate could campaign on ANYTHING, and if he’s elected, that thing would be de facto constitutional. So in 2028, if AOC campaigns on imposing martial law in every state that once supported the Confederacy and refusing to allow citizens of those states to vote in any subsequent elections, and if she then won, Rogan O’Handley and Silence would have to insist SCOTUS sign off on the constitutionality of that policy.

Or at least Rogan would. I don’t think Muscovites like Silence get a say in this. Yet.

I don't want to be a Pollyanna about this, but is the legitimate media beginning to wake up and smell the coffee ?

If Trump does things according the left, will the left then favor deportations for those that came illegally and with the help of the last administration? Very important to know now. Otherwise the left is grandstanding like usual.

Immigration was a top issue of concern. And most polls showed Trump leading the issue. We shouldn't be back tracking with well known facts. Try and keep up!

Of course. If due process is provided as required by law. I haven’t seen ANYONE suggest that immigration judges should not be permitted to order the deportation of certain immigrants, as has happened for decades now under every president, including both Trump and Biden, or that immigrants who courts order to be deported should not, in fact, be deported.

I’m telling you, you’re SUPER close to getting this. Just a couple more neurons connecting and you’ll realize why you’ve been so incredibly wrong about this for so long.

I think if Trump and his minions were to back down, abide by the law, and grant due process which determines those people who have been committing actual crimes are here illegally, then I think most on the left would be ok with that.

I'm not arguing that the Trump MAGA base was not afraid that brown hordes were invading our country to rape our women and children. But that cohort did not determine the outcome of the election. After all, they voted for Trump in 2020.

The voters who were worried about the price of eggs determined the outcome of the 2024 election.

Wow, I thought the Biden admin had open border policies and didn't care who entered the country and now I'm learning that he deported 15 million illegal aliens.

Guess the right can actually get around to telling the truth when trying to frame some stupid ass point as a "why is Trump being treated differently" grievance.

I'm not sure what the right believes but everybody deports. Obama did, Trump O did, Biden did, Trump II is going to.

The question is what happens to those folks between when they're picked up and when they're deported. Obama and Biden let a lot of them go. That might be the humane thing to do but it tends to encourage more migrants to try their luck, especially for Biden. And that really was an issue for Biden and Harris as his appointed deputy.

Trump I put people in cages and separated kids from their parents to make it miserable for folks that want to migrate. It hurt him politically but less people were trying to come.

Trump Ii is now deporting people to put them in even worse prisons again to make it pretty miserable for people to come here. He's likely going to lose in court and I think it will hurt him politically, but I suspect migration will drop sharply from Biden's term.
