Love it. Just a pissed off, regular middle class white dude. Without that support, Trump has nothing.
I don't think it's possible Team Trump thought the majority of ordinary Americans would like masked, heavily armed, unaccountable paramilitary forces invading their neighborhoods and creating chaos and fear. If they did, they're fucking idiots. Most likely, they're counting on SCOTUS to ensure the votes of regular middle class white dudes like that won't be relevant in a gerrymandered future in which executive officers have absolute immunity.

Yeah, let's see if people vote that way in November, and again in 2028. Then we'll see how disapproving of it they actually are.
Yeah, hard to know. Seems like 35% hate what’s going on, 35% love it, and the other 30% seem to care more about what’s going on with the Kardashians than what’s going on in Washington. America in 2026.

Walz needs to call out the guard now.

That happened to some degree when southern governors attempted to halt desegregation of schools, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama to be exact. The presidents, Eisenhower and Kennedy, then federalized the National Guard (In Mississippi JFK directly sent in the military instead). Those actions were considered constitutional by the courts.

It needs to be underscored to the high heavens that ALL OF THIS has happened under and as a result of the MAGA administration.

Also note that MAGA has the executive, the legislative (both house and senate) and the judicial.

The world is falling apart, and the Dems have ZERO to do with this. Let that be on the record.

We have to put an end to this madness in November.

Godspeed, people. 🙏

In reference to Blue Steel's note above, could the initiation of the Insurrection Act, be a precursor of cancellation of the 2026 elections?

Also, I surmise there are many more illegals in Florida than in middle-America Minnesota. So why Minnesota, Oregon, New York... ?

1/15/2026:

“…MANAGING MIDTERM EXPECTATIONS

The president expressed frustration that his Republican Party could lose control of the U.S. House of Representatives or the Senate in this year’s midterm elections, citing historical trends that have seen the party in power lose seats in the second year of a presidency.

“It's some deep psychological thing, but when you win the presidency, you don't win the midterms,” Trump said.

He boasted that he had accomplished so much that “when you think of it, we shouldn't even have an election.”

Trump floats canceling election, dismisses it to avoid 'dictator' label

“… Riffing on tariffs during his speech, he said, "if you have the wrong president, nothing's good."

"We found that out for four years... They had the worst policy and we have to even run against these people," he said.

"I won't say 'cancel the election, they should cancel the election,' because the fake news will say 'he wants the elections canceled, he's a dictator.' They always call me a dictator."

… "You’ve got to win the midterms,” Trump said. “If we don’t win the midterms, it’s just going to be – they’ll find a reason to impeach me.”…”

I think impeachment is an attempt to get out the vote in the midterm, but best case, in January 2026, we have multiple instances of Trump publicly fantasizing about cancelling the midterms … who knows what he is saying in private.
