Other LE agencies are trained to deal with similar situations better. So yea, there is a less % of shootings. Most of the time they aren't faced with ginned up lunatics, stoked by socialist / marxist organizers, screaming / spitting / throwing things at them. If you think those are peaceful protests you have no clue what peaceful means. Still doesn't mean they should be killed but it sure increases the possibility of something bad happening. Pretti intervened, put hands on a fed officer, and resisted arrest. Those are facts. No, that doesn't mean he should be shot, but it sure as hell makes it more likely than if he didn't get in the middle and put his hands on the cop. Had he stayed 20 feet away, protested peacefully, and recorded he would still be alive. You and the left don't grasp that or worse, do, but won't acknowledge it so your arguments are flawed and it doesn't advance your agenda of stopping deportation of illegal aliens.

Way to cower from the question. It was reported that the individual ice was after was convicted of domestic abuse. If true (that removes your excuse of ice lying) are you ok with that person staying in this country illegally? Man up and answer it. I don't have a problem stating where I stand on this hostile board.

Did it legally by filing for asylum at a port of entry. Has now paid $32,000 in legal fees and is still in limbo. Has been told by his attorney it could take 2 more years. I have offered to seek help from our congressional and Senate reps on his behalf. You know who he blames. It isn't trump. Rightfully it’s biden. If biden hadn't turned millions lose in the country we wouldn't be going through what is taking place. And trump was elected in large part due to biden's total fuck up of immigration. He sees far more clearly than this board. So, I hope every single person in this country that is here illegally is deported because they don't have a right to live here while my friend and his family have and continue to suffer. Get to the back of the line. What does your hypocrisy lead you to say to those people? So LOL at the hypocritical claim of compassion for people just trying to make a better life. You would rather have compassion for an illegal criminal than someone trying to immigrate to this country the right way or for American citizens who need help. Just catching up on this thread, and good Lord Almighty in heaven, it looks like callatoroy went on one of his signature alcohol-fueled, spittle-inflected late night rampages. Good God, calla, put down the bottle, hoss.

The thing that I love the most about calla is that you can tell that he spends a lot of time in his cuck chair here on this board (probably gets a lot of practice doing the same in his real life), too much of a punk to actually participate for weeks or month at a time, but very clearly reading and following along all along, and whipping himself into a frothing rage about specific members of this message board community to the point that when his balls finally do drop and he decides to rejoin the adults table for a conversation, he completely flies off the handle and posts in a fit of drunken anger.

And speaking of people who go on alcohol fuel rampages late at night on this board. We can all say what we want about Ram, but I at least begrudgingly respect that Ram has 1. absolutely zero problem owning and admitting what he is and what he believes, and 2. absolutely zero problem regularly participating in discussions on this board knowing and understanding he is in a tiny minority. Calla, on the other hand, is clearly struggling with knowing deep down that he is defending the indefensible, and it very clearly is causing him a lot of inner turmoil- and it is absolutely hilarious, in a “bless your heart, you pitiful little man” kind of way, to watch him work through his anger and self-hatred. Be more like ram, calla!

Dozens of Cuban men designated for deportation from the United States have been stranded at the U.S. naval base at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, since before Christmas in one of the most puzzling episodes in the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

The men were rounded up in the United States last year and in some instances thought they were being sent to the capital, Havana. Instead, they wound up at the U.S. military base in southeast Cuba.

But in a cruel twist of fate, their arrival brought them no closer to being released. Cuba restricts air travel between the base and the rest of the island, so U.S. immigration agents will have to shuttle the men back to the United States before turning them over to Cuban authorities.

The Cubans — about 50 men who range in age from their 20s to about 50 — were being housed in a prison that previously held suspected members of Al Qaeda, according to people familiar with the operation who were not authorized to discuss it publicly.

“Some of the Cubans there now thought they were agreeing to be deported and were shocked when they landed at Guantánamo,” said Lee Gelernt of the American Civil Liberties Union, which has been challenging the deportation detention operation.

Officials did not respond to questions about why the administration chose these men in particular to be held at Guantánamo from among the tens of thousands in the United States awaiting deportation.

Which makes him more of a hero. That he got beaten once by these goons, yet went out again to record and protect others, shows bravery that few of us possess. He has now ascended to god-like status through his martyrdom. Rest in peace, Alex Pretti. Hopefully, we can find a modicum of your courage to finish the job that your good work started.

Federal officials said they took the boy with them after the father told officers he wanted the child to remain with him, according to a social media post from DHS on Thursday.

The agency said the officers “made multiple attempts to get the mother inside the house to take custody of her child. Officers even assured her that they would NOT take her into custody. She refused to accept custody of the child.”

“Our officers primary concern during the entire operation was the safety and welfare of the child,” DHS added. “Following the mother’s abandonment of the child, officers abided by the father’s wishes to keep the child with him. Father and son are together at Dilley.”

Liam’s mother was “terrified” of the agents outside her door, Pastor Sergio Amezcua, who has been helping the mother since her husband and son were taken, told CNN’s Laura Coates Thursday night.

 
The concerned and deeply troubled Susan Collins reports that Noem has told her that ICE will be backing off Maine. That will allow her to vote for funding DHS and refrain from joining Tillis and Murkowski in calling for Noem's ouster...not to mention shoring up her tenuous re-election campaign.
